By large margins the constitutional amendment has failed. the Kansas constitution does indeed guarantee the right to an abortion.

This a window into how popular abortion rights is and may be an electoral game changer.

65% for reproductive rights in such a conservative state like Kansas is HUGE !

Republicans usually win Kansas by 20 points in presidential elections, so this is a big repudiation of Republican extremism and the Taliban-style theocratic Christian-fascist Supreme Court judges.

Big win for reproductive freedom in a red state. (y)

Freaking AWESOME, in a very conservative state.

Republicans know, that if voters have the right to choose, they will in nearly every state except for the talibornagain states like Oklahoma, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Freedom of choice, stay the HELL out of women's bodies.

It's currently 61% to 39%, the margin has been decreasing, it was boosted by most of the early voting being democrat I think.

But apparently independent voter turnout is way up compared to 2018, I saw an image somewhere...

Ah, found it:

If they can't get traction in RWNJ Kansas they can't get traction anywhere.
Although you can't find a state more worthy of flyover than Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska, unlike the other two, Kansas has some blue blood. Remember they have a Democrat as a governor. That said, I understand this issue drove a lot of voters to the polls, a near record for a primary.

Both the unexpected turnout and the outcome are noteworthy. This could foretell a great deal more strength for Democrats in November than we currently anticipate. Republican operatives will be having some restless sleep tonight.

Who has the most abortions in the US? Christian women.

What are Republican men doing? Asking them: Hey, now that the federal government isn't there to protect your right to not have our kids if you don't wanna, how's about we ban abortion at a state level?

It is an interesting strategy. Let's see how it plays out. Hopefully abused women, raped women, etc can overlook it all and side with Jesus.

😄

As previously posted, It is good, but I'm guessing many/most other red states are going to learn from this and avoid putting it in the hands of the voters.

Men realized that a lot more of them would be on the hook for 18 yrs of child support.

And maybe the mothers with consciences realized what it could do to their daughters' futures.

But Democrats can run and say "don't vote for the republican, they're against abortion" in some form or another.

Most states, I think, can get things on the ballot by petition as well, whether their state Congress likes it or not. Just have to get the signatures.

The KS vote indicates they would get the signatures. (y)

You must be new to US politics. Look up Gerrymandering

I think this is immature. Men without the means have kids all of the time for multiple reasons. Some remain unable to afford child support, others get jobs and struggle. I would say this is more than likely an issue many women are watching closely. Republicans overstepped in a way like no other.

Alito lives in the 15th century when it comes to abortion. His allegiance is in Rome, that is who he's comfortable being honest with. Republicans have done such a good job converting entire states to evangelical caste systems, that most women voting on this feel 0 allegiance to the pope like Alito does.

That is the gamble Republicans have decided will get them their dream of an abortion free US. Evangelical women, voting on papal ideas about their bodies.

Crazy.

I think your post is asinine.

Wow, that's a CHOICE.

Yup and they're the ones that now saw the light at the end of the tunnel closing...unless you are claiming they prefer court-ordered child support? After all, nothing stops them from paying it of their own volition, right?

I need you to demonstrate it is men that can't pay child support that tipped this vote in any direction.

Lol, you trying to argue that the people most likely to have abortions weren't the ones voting for it in majority numbers in Kansas?

Turnout in Kansas was almost 50% of registered voters.

Kansas has 1.93 million registered voters and currently about 0.82 million ballots are counted with 86% reporting.

In the end, it will be about 0.95 million, just shy of 50% turnout.

That is huge participation for a primary.

I dont care what you need. It's an informed opinion AND it makes total sense. Something I pointed out in my post 19 and you didnt respond directly to here.

I didnt argue that...period.

Where are all the anti choice posters tonight? How can they explain that a very red state tried to shelf this to a primary, and still, the voters turned out and told them that they want abortion to be legal, safe and available.

Talibornagain FAIL
