We have all heard the tropes about Kamala Harris by now. And those who love to engage in tropes know that they did so but will deny it.

The Right also loved to mock her because she is from California. And of course, ANYTHING California needs to be mocked.

Now for the quite part: How much did racism play into Kamala's election loss? Some will say a lot, some will say none at all.

So, I will just as the question straight up, with a few poll choices, of why she lost.

My own opinion? She was both a flawed candidate that would not separate herself from Joe Biden and ran a lukewarm campaign, AND Americans are not ready to embrace a female President and especially one of color. IT can be BOTH reasons.

Multiple choices available.

There’s a lot to unpack with Kamala Harris but the main thing is this: she is profoundly unpopular and a profoundly bad candidate. That didn’t change between the time she bombed out of the 2020 primary in the single digits and when she was forced on the base by the DNC in 2024.

I'll take "electorates too poorly educated to be entrusted with their own democracy" for 400, Alex.

People will overwhelmingly vote for an ethnically diverse person if their campaign addresses the correct issues, which Kamala's campaign simply did not. Half the population is female, and a large portion of Dem voters are minorities. So in some cases such qualities can be a benefit.

Obama ran on hope and change, people believed it, he got elected. Dems lost power when people stopped believing it.

I said it during her campaign. She totally neglected the male vote particularly white male.
She also never explained the successes of the Biden presidency. Never. Christ, our economy was the envy of the world. She never spoke to this.
Inflation was caused by Covid not Joe and Joe got it controlled better than any country. Again, never spoken to.

Her disingenuous presentation, continuous avoidance of the press and refusal to do any significant interviews (especially unscripted ones), voters having no idea what her real positions were/are, her constant nonsensical word salads and ignoring the fact that she was being mocked for it, and when she did speak, she never provided any real substance. Just a lot of empty platitudes and pandering. She came across as someone who read a book on how to behave like a generic politician and implemented every detail to a T.

My favorite part about her "campaign," if you can call it that, was when she had commercials running in different states that completely contradicted one another, as if everyone would be too stupid to pick up on it.

There are more than a few reasons. But for this poll I chose #10. But I'd also like to slightly correct/modify the reason just a little.

The RW media did a better job lying than the left-wing media.

Joe Biden didn’t give her enough runway to make her case. He should have declared himself a single term candidate in 2022. She performed amazingly well considering how little campaign time she actually was given.

Agreed. Trump campaigned continuously for 9 years. He never stopped. She campaigned for 105 days and came within 1.4% of the PV.

I realize that second place is the loser. But she put up one hell of an impressive campaign for what little time she had.

Lol her campaign was god-awful. She wouldn't even do a real goddamned interview. Stop deluding yourself into thinking she was a strong candidate. If you guys choose to run her out there again in 2028, it's going to be a bloodbath for the Democratic Party.

Cheating from the right.

Bla, bla, bla. The one thing I know for sure, America wouldn't be in this chaotic state today had we elected her. The only positive thing I've seen out of the Trump admin is control at the border. The only reason this has been successful is due to the Nazi tactics of this WH. Everything else is a clown show.

No matter how bad you make Harris out to be, Trump is worse. Always was, always will be. Job losses, bankruptcies, loss of health insurance and massive loss of medical research, loss of our standing with our allies, taxes (tariffs) imposed on everyone. Corruption at the highest levels of government like never seen before. America is being sold to the highest bidder and the recipient is Donnie 2 Dolls.

^ this is why Harris lost. The lies were unsustainable. The fraud was unsustainable, one that Kamala was a key participant. Democrats have lost credibility. The media has lost credibility. There are a few left, who are all in for the failed narrative that is the current Democrat party.
Welcome to the new merit based world. DEI is dead. Race, gender orientation only matters to the Democrat establishment. Kamala lost because was a poorly contrived airhead. Her handlers should have hid her longer. People see through FAKE.

Americans voted for the most qualified (experienced) candidate.
Trump had four years of experience as President and Commander-In-Chief. . . Harris had NONE.
Trump had experience in executive roles most of his adult life. . . . Harris had ONE experience in an executive position - Border Czar - at which she was a total failure.

Many independent voters who voted for Trump said it was a no-brainer.

For all the good Biden did, he stayed in the race too long, and there should have been a primary so voters would have had more choices.

She couldn't answer questions regarding policy. She generally dodged them and steered the conversation towards Trump being bad.

Plus she got killed in the debate. She just tried to insult and make faces while the moderators did the actual debate work for her. The entire country saw that.

What I meant is that the rightwing media presented THEIR narrative better than the leftwing media presented a narrative to support Harris.

Take a deep breath, she won't be the candidate in 2028.

California is a mess and it's a mess because of left wing progressivism. Even now we see Gavin Newsom, architect of much of he left wing mess in California, tacking toward the right. Of course he wants to run for President and needs to cover his trail of destruction as Mayor, Lt Gov. and Governor in California.

Stayed too long? He should not have been in it at all.
He pulled a Ginsburg and wound up hurting the country dearly as did she.

We aren't discussing Newsom. Plenty of time to do that should he decide to run for Prez.

1. Biden
2. Inflation
3. Border situation
4. Wokeness

It didn't help that she was from California or that she had a somewhat off-putting personality. She wasn't the worst candidate ever but she was below-average.
