Of course, but do you really think as a nation we’re in a position to change that?People would never leave their own country if they had the ability to support their family, or have adequate medical care.
What you’re not seeing is that those root causes are, in almost every practical sense, irrelevant to solving the problem here in the US because we are powerless to address those root causes. We don’t govern any of those countries, and our only leverage is to bribe them, an ineffective solution, to say the least.People would not leave if they weren't extorted for money by cartels who threaten to rape their daughters or kill them if they don't pay up. People would never leave their country if they could get every day, common items like toilet paper and eggs. People wouldn't leave their country if their governments weren't historically run by dictators like those in the such as Hidalgo, Quiroga, Moreno, Díaz, Trujillo, Perón, Castro, Pinochet, and Stroessner and Maduro in Venezuela.
There is always, I repeat --ALWAYS, a root cause for people who choose to flee their homeland and risk their own lives by trekking through a thousand miles of mountains and rough terrain with their child on their shoulder. It's just not logical, not in the least.
I think Harris addressed the root causes in the sense of saying “hello” to them, but that’s about it.That's correct! She did nothing helpful toward stemming migration or addressing root causes, and the numbers are clear.
Yes, there is a lot she could have done. But the fact is, she chose to do next to nothing and thus got no positive or measurable results.oh lets see, she could have visited a LOT sooner than she did, seen what the issue was, reported back to Biden and asked to get together a commission in the administration to take care of it. Didn;t do ANY of that.
OR any number of things. She has plenty of power if the President approves of it.
Why would The administration ask her to take care of it if they did not have a way for her to do so?
I disagree. The root causes are always the right place to begin when trying to resolve mass immigration.Of course, but do you really think as a nation we’re in a position to change that?

The only thing within our control is to deal with the symptom of those root causes, i.e., the symptom that is illegal migration, and the way to deal with that is to guard our border.
Good, more agreement. Because she simply was not successful at her task. Please quote the post where I claimed she was successful at stemming the migration from Central or South America.
And she barely even bothered to say hello, let alone perform her task.I think Harris addressed the root causes in the sense of saying “hello” to them, but that’s about it.
That’s attempting to drain the ocean rather than fixing the holes in your boat. First, you stop taking on water. Then you address the other problems, which are longer term in implementation, and longer still in producing any results.I’m

Okay, let's go with your view.I’m

Democrat Senators were among those brainless, soulless MAGA disciples who who voted to scrap the backroom deal on a procedural motion. The House played no role in stopping the sham border security bill. Here's what GOP Senator James Lankford said about the bill:
Senator Lankford bill
MAGA Jesus told his brainless, soulless disciplines in the House to vote it down, so they did.
Sorry, that is foolish stubbornness. The root case isn’t always the right place to begin, and it’s not the right place to begin when you are powerless to address those root causes. It’s a bit like saying we could cut down or airline disasters if we can just do something about their root cause: gravity. There are going to be shit-hole countries in the world, no matter how much hand-wringing we do about them.I’m
I disagree. The root causes are always the right place to begin when trying to resolve mass immigration.
The reality is that she was never meant to perform that task but rather only appear to be performing that task. And she barely even bothered to say hello, let alone perform her task.

Meanwhile the Democrat Senate majority leader simply refuses to recognize the House passed HR2 comprehensive immigration reform bill for crass partisan political reasons. Vulnerable Democrat Senators dare not risk a vote on actual immigration reform.
This is exactly what the administration wants you to believe: that the only way to solve the immigration problem is to solve a set of intractable problems in half a dozen countries 1000’s of miles away. That is a lie, and there is a far simpler method.
You stop the flow of illegal migration across our southern border (the second part of Harris’s assignment that no one on the left seems to remember) by guarding the border and using force against anyone who seeks to evade border control.
The administration’s action and inaction on this issue starts to make sense once you realize one simple thing: the progressive left has no interest in “solving” the immigration problem because they have no interest in stopping illegal immigration.
The right's misrepresentation of her role is disingenuous at best. She never was in charge of the border. She was tasked to help deal with the causes within the three specific CA countries that were contributing the most to the migration crisis. We can objectively argue whether she was successful or not but to misrepresent her task is dishonest. The reality is that she was never meant to perform that task but rather only appear to be performing that task.
So you're saying the Berlin Wall and those machine gun nests didn't reduce the flow of people moving from East Berlin to West? Whom do you think you're kidding with this?Won’t work. Didn’t work well for Berlin either. They had machine gun nests every 50 yards or so. If people had a dire need and think the answer to that need is in the other side of a line they are going to attempt to cross it.

By the numbers, tossing money their way did nothing to stem migration from their countries. Which was to be the task/reason for addressing root causes - so their people would stay in their country instead of leaving and coming to the U.S. That clearly didn't happen.https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/03/25/fact-sheet-vice-president-harris-announces-public-private-partnership-has-generated-more-than-5-2-billion-in-private-sector-commitments-for-northern-central-america/

T: Vice President Harris Announces Public-Private Partnership Has Generated More Than $5.2 Billion in Private Sector Commitments for Northern Central America
More than $1 billion in new commitments announced today will create economic opportunity and help address the root causes of migration in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
To date, CAF and other PCA partners include more than 50 companies and organizations that have made commitments to support inclusive economic growth in the region. These entities represent the financial services, textiles and apparel, agriculture, technology and telecommunications, and nonprofit sectors, among others.
These investments are creating jobs, connecting people to the digital economy, expanding access to financing for small businesses, providing training and education for youth, women and workers, and improving economic livelihoods for people in the region.

The money was appropriated in March. This takes time. People are always looking for an instant quick-fix and that's not how this works.By the numbers, tossing money their way did nothing to stem migration from their countries. Which was to be the task/reason for addressing root causes - so their people would stay in their country instead of leaving and coming to the U.S. That clearly didn't happen.
You say that yet the drop of from the three countries she worked with is a significant drop....just luck I suppose.By the numbers, tossing money their way did nothing to stem migration from their countries. Which was to be the task/reason for addressing root causes - so their people would stay in their country instead of leaving and coming to the U.S. That clearly didn't happen.

This dumb as a rock Harris as "border czar" is still going on? Like I said, the way to recognize a dumb as a rock R argument is......they will beat that dead horse so far into the ground that it decomposes.
