Behind closed doors much of the GOP wants Trump to quietly disappear. They already got their big juicy tax cut so Trump is no longer useful and they’re likely thinking this could be the tool they need so he goes away.

Establishment Republican elites have wanted him to go away since 2015.

They bent over, because they thought they'd lose 2016 if they didn't; then, because they thought he'd be a useful idiot giving them tax cuts. He wound up taking over the party, and he can cause lots of problems for anyone who crosses him.

Even if MAGA abandons him, he's still surrounded by ride-or-die sycophants who will put the screws to anyone who tries to get rid of him.

Sadly, that means we're stuck with him until he is too feeble to rule.

Well let's cut the entire list loose. Leave nobody out. Let's see who flew with Jeffrey, who did business with him, who went to a dinner or party he was at. All of them, if you every showed at a charity function, a ballet, an opera, anything while Epstien was there you must be a criminal.

The announcement of the subpoena comes on the same day a U.S. federal judge denied the Justice Department's request to unseal grand jury transcripts related to one of Jeffrey Epstein's federal investigations ... with the judge claiming the department's request didn't meet any of the exceptions which would allow the release of such testimony.

No one asked for the Grand Jury transcripts. Trump conned you guys again - they don't need a judge to "unseal" the files the administration already has.

A bit chaotic but sure release the list. I don’t think you can prosecute anyone though due to the statute of limitations. Been covered up for way too long. Let’s stop doing that.

No, that is not about all of the Epstein files/the list.

The judge’s ruling was regarding just grand jury testimony, the smoke and mirrors attempt by Bondi/Trump regarding submitting having just that released.

It was known from the beginning that filing to release just grand jury testimony was all just smoke and mirrors, trying to appease and fool the flock.

Bond/Trump knew that grand jury testimony is limited, not the complete file, and the chances of it being released were slim.

For the overly-credulous posters who haven't figured out the con yet (MAGAs), Trump asked for the Grand Jury testimony to be unsealed because he knew the request would be denied.

The files that everyone are talking about - the "list" - isn't part of the GJ testimony, it's part of the FBI file, which is entirely under the control of the Trump Administration, and not subject to any "gag orders."

The Trump Administration was literally crowing about how they had it for weeks, until May, when they actually looked at it, and found Trump's name all over it.
 
I find it astounding that Trump believes he can sue Rupert for slander and libel. For WHAT? Those suits require a demonstration of damages.

It's hard to imagine anything funnier than Trump filing a $10 BILLION DOLLAR lawsuit against Murdoch for defamation, when there's simply no way that any more can be said that will defame Trump any further than his history already has. His own words, actions, and lost court cases have all pretty much defamed Donald Trump beyond any hope of recovering credibility as anything other than a sexual predator and scumbag. He has already been found libel for sexual abuse, and fined tens-of-milion$ for his actions in the E. Jean Carroll case. He bragged about sexual assault!

How on Earth does he think he can be slandered or libeled beyond what the record already shows, let alone to the tune of $10 billion? Nothing anyone says about him can possibly cost him more than a cup of cofeve at Star****s.

If I remember the story correctly, decades ago Trump sued a reporter who claimed that Trump wasn't really a billionaire for 100 million dollars.

He won on essentially a technicality, but the Judge awarded him $1 in damages.
