I once posed this question to a lawyer on another forum. He said no, I said yes. We both stated our case. So I'm interested in hearing what other people have to say on it.

Note that I love debates so may debate you if you say no. :devil: Though if you don't want to debate me thats fine. Just say so. :)
 
It depends what you mean by "right" but I think it is an important way of maintaining individual and associational liberty. It was part of our ancietn Anglo-Saxon liberties until quite recently.
 
Exactly. I wouldn't say it's a right, but it's something that could never be monitored or prevented, so it will have to exist.
 
I guess it's an unalterable part of the legal system.

That's cause yall suck. j/k, seems to me it's part of common law. Maybe I just don't understand it correctly.
