In the first jury trial stemming from an Occupy Wall Street protest, Michael Premo was found innocent of all charges yesterday after his lawyers presented video evidence directly contradicting the version of events offered by police and prosecutors.
You mean the police and prosecutors fabricated evidence and testimony in order to attempt a conviction of an innocent person? Say it ain't so. I can't speak for New York, but here in Houston, Texas, that's called Official Oppression, and it's a felony.

The police were and are nothing but the Gestapo of the political elite when it comes to Occupy Wall Street and similar organisations. Anything that threatens Wall Street and the banks are considered enemies of the state.
I am pretty sure lying under oath is called perjury in NY, and it is also a felony. However, I wonder if because of the special circumstances to where the judge interviewed the officer who was filming in a special meeting means he was never actually sworn in and can avoid the charge. they will probably end up doing their best to keep the liars from prosecution. It is not right, but i am sure it endangers other cases also and they probably don't want that. You mean the police and prosecutors fabricated evidence and testimony in order to attempt a conviction of an innocent person? so you are trying to say because one man out of a crowd was found innocent of a crime means no crime ever did happen? You mean the police and prosecutors fabricated evidence and testimony in order to attempt a conviction of an innocent person? he wasn't found innocent, he was not found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. huge difference
so you are trying to say because one man out of a crowd was found innocent of a crime means no crime ever did happen?
So i guess none of the rapes and destruction of property ever did happen because of one man was found innocent of one crime
I don't believe the article stated that NY was going to prosecute for perjury. Wouldn't this be incumbent upon the Prosecutor as a rule of law. Does it mean the Prosecutor is "bought and sold" if he/she does not prosecute? Is it another way of saying "Justice is for the rich and influential?" You know, the Prosecutor is working for Wall Street. The 1%. Does this surprise anyone?
Do you make it a habit of blaming the whole for the actions of a few?
And yes, as far as the man in the article is concerned, no crime happened.
no it means that the man was innocent of the crime it doesn't mean a crime never did happen
If a bank is robbed and the person was found innocent of the robbery it doesn't mean the bank was never robed all it means is he wasn't the one who did it
And i will ask you this, Do you believe the Tea Party is racist because of a very few had racist signs at some rally?
How about now we prosecute crooked cops like these? If we don't hold police responsible for their transgressions, they'll keep transgressing.
It really bugs me to hear all of the cop hatred on this website. Those guys do a hard job, with garbage hours, for very minimal pay. And they have to deal with idiots like some that I've read on this website. Sure, there are a few crooked ones. Name a profession that doesn't have a few crooked ones. Just because there are a few crooked ones doesn't mean we should lump them all together. Most of these guys are doing more of a service to our country than active duty servicemembers are IMO. These guys actually protect citizens from the bad guys unlike us who go galavanting around the world fighting people who would allegedly leave their caves to bomb us if we didn't. Stop being a bunch of haters and appreciate the job done by these guys.
Much of the crowd still broke trespassing and resisting laws, let's not forget that.
Also, he wasn't "innocent". He was probably found not guilty due to lack of evidence. Man, that reasonable doubt is an awesome thing. He pled the 5th and the prosecution couldn't make their case.
It's that simple.

Yes, it bugs me too
They do a boring job, and unfortunately, when they're actually called upon to do something, they tend engage in criminal behavior. The fact that no cop involved in this situation had the balls to stand up and tell the truth of what really happened, and instead kept quiet clearly demonstrates the corrupt culture of the NYPD
