No, that also is wrong. You are confused of what GZ is charged with. The state has to prove GZ is a murderer, not that the story he told isn't entirely accurate. I doubt he completely knows or remembers what happened in microscopic detail.
Casey Anthony was truly a pathological liar. Thus she was found guilty of lying, not murder.
In Casey Anthony case, she was not caught on site in the act of killing of her daughter. Zimmerman was.
Neither did she confess. Even though the circumstantial evidence was strongly against her, the jury found there was no direct evidence to physically connect her to the killing.
In Zimmerman's case, he was there on top of or by Trayvon's body with his weapon as seen by several eyewitnesses immediately after the shot. The police soon after came to the crime scene and Zimmerman admitted to the police officer he was the one who shot Trayvon.
If his affirmative defense is rejected as not believable, he is then answerable for the killing of Trayvon Martin. It would then be the question of the level of his culpability for the killing.
I am not the prosecutor, therefore, I don't have to abide by the rules of evidence. I just need to use logic, reason and common sense to look at the evidence to come up with reasonable argument to refute your illogical argument in your defense of Zimmerman.
All the evidence we have so far showed that what Zimmerman claimed happened did not happen the way he described.
In fact, the direction of the debris field starting from the T-junction and ending up to where Trayvon's body was found, together with the screaming from a distance to where it became louder as heard by witnesses, the lack of gun powder residue on Zimmerman's clothing, the total lack of blood splatter from Trayvon's chest wound to Zimmerman's clothing, the straight front to back direction of the bullet path into Trayvon's chest, the lack of mud or grass stain on Zimmerman's jacket, the disparity of his wounds or lack thereof, and the lack of Zimmerman's blood/DNA on Trayvon's hands or sleeves and Tryavon's lack of offensive wounds on his hands etc, all indicated to me that Trayvon was not beating up on Zimmerman.
It was the other way around. Zimmerman was trying to detain Trayvon but ended up killing him due to Trayvon putting up a struggle to defy his sham "authority".
In my opinion, based on the evidence, it is more likely that Zimmerman was grabbing on Trayvon's clothing in an attempt to detain him. During the struggle beginning at the T-junction when Trayvon was trying to get away in the direction where he was staying, Zimmerman hit his head against the tree limb and thus suffered the two small cuts at the top of his head and a scrape at the bridge of his nose. That explained the the small scrape on the bridge of his nose and the sideway sway and downward flow of blood trails from his head wounds due to gravity as he stumbled side to side during the struggle.
While still grabbing onto Trayvon's clothing as Trayvon tried to pull away from him, Zimmerman at some point pulled out his gun in an attempt to take control of the situation as Trayvon screamed for help and begged for his life upon seeing the gun as could be heard in the 911 call.
Zimmerman became enraged by Trayvon's insubmission to his attempt at exercising his stern authority as a wannabe cop. His pride was hurt when he sustained the head injuries as a result of Trayvon's refusal to comply. As his former bouncer colleague once said about Zimmerman, "When he snapped, he snapped."
He then shot Trayvon in cold-blood while standing and grabbing onto Trayvon to prevent him from running away. This is supported by the direct front to back bullet trajectory through the chest and the lack of Trayvon's blood and gun powder on Zimmerman's clothing. His state of mind being wanting to be respected as stern, authoritative and commanding presence was revealed to us by Zimmerman himself on the very night of Feb 26 when he was doing a small chit chat with Singleton while waiting for the voice stress test.
Here's the pertinent part:
Zimmerman: Have you ever had to shoot anybody?
Singleton: No.
Zimmerman: Good for you.
You're probably stern enough to get the point.
Singleton: I'm sorry?
Zimmerman: You're probably stern enough for it to get the point. You got that -
Singleton: Hmm.
Zimmerman: - authoritative, commanding presence.
Singleton: [Unintelligible] geared up.
Zimmerman: I [unintelligible] you without it. I wouldn't question your authority.

How far did SPD get into their investigation?
Yes, the state has to prove Zimmerman is a murderer. I am sure the prosecutor has more than what we have to prove it's murder 2. If not, I'll settle for manslaughter.
