I know the majority of you are thinking this is a good thing. And it isn't cause how bad can a guy be who likes star trek? And has a hot wife??

As I always support democractic principles, I do see the uprisings in the ME as the progress. However, as a consumer of oil, I am quite worried how high gas prices will rise. Also, as there are no guarantees in how all of this will end, the future may hold that Islamist extremists find new havens.

No offense, but at this point I believe that gas prices are probably the least of our worries because this powder keg waiting to explode could be the chance that many Islamist regimes have been waiting for. Actions must be take to secure the process of transition so that this does not become the case.

I would actually be okay with our access to oil being limited. It would give us the economic incentive we need to replace petroleum as a mainstay of our economy, thus giving the middle east much less control of our economy in the long run.

Oh boy. Cat sweetie. Most of our oil comes from Mexico, Venezuela, Canada.

And oil is used in everything imaginable. So replacing it would be hard to do. Because wind, solar, ethanol do not give the same energy output that oil does. And they do not give us some of the benefits of oil. And the ME does not have control of our economy. They are not the ones holding guns to our heads for us to consume oil, etc.

Jordan's King Abdullah II Is a good guy in my book and less of problem than any other leaders in the Middle East.

I see what he is doing as positive step and I hope he survives this round of Islamic Cult instigated unrest.

These protests will not lead to anything positive for the people of the region or the rest of the world.

The goal of those behind these protests is to have the Islamic Cult be in charge under sharis law and that will lead to the Islamic Armageddon which some, like the Ayatollahs in Iran want to start.

We need to be very careful that we don't let Obama's appeasement policies in the Middle East go too far and Aid the enemy, that being those who want all Christians dead. In other words those behind these protests.
