Jon Stewart has clearly had enough of Senator John McCain's grandstanding on Benghazi, so he took some time on Wednesday's show to hit the former presidential candidate where it hurts: Iraq.

Using McCain's own "Country First" campaign slogan against him, Stewart pointed out that the Senator has done anything but during Hagel's would-be confirmation hearing. And when McCain's comments on the disasters of the Iraq war are placed side-by-side with his statements on Benghazi, his concern for "dead Americans" doesn't seem to add up. Most damning of all, however, is McCain's honest report that all of this might have more to do with a vendetta against Hagel than what's actually best for the country

Jon Stewart Hammers John McCain On Hagel, Benghazi Outrage; Calls Out Iraq Hypocrisy (VIDEO)

McCain repeatedly answered that "mistakes were made" without any further elaboration when asked about the Iraq war. When asked if there should be an investigation about how the Iraq war was started, he used diversionary tactics. His behavior on Benahazi is cementing his place in history as a fool.

This piece was absolutely hilarious. Stewart made him look more foolish than a court jester.

These days I don't care how right Stewart is. I've been finding his voices, impersonations and screaming to be increasingly tedious. Colbert has a sharper presentation.

YOu don't care how right he is? Really?

That piece absolutely skewers McCain, and rightfully so.

There was NO substance in what Stewart said. It was just shrill voice sneering ridicule. Very pitiful.

My wife and I went to the Stewart/Colbert DC rally - primarily because of Stewart. Very otherwise eventful for reasons not related to the rally at all. But since then, Stewart is in a nose dive in substance and presentation. He has replaced substance with just sneering shrill voiced ridicule, extreme partisanship, and overall bad acting. He should put on clown makeup for how he has downgraded himself and the direction he has done so. So much, she stopped watching him, where before was very much a fan of his. If nothing else, he has become boring. It is a sad downfall.

In that segment, Stewart was the court jester.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. McCain is on the verge of becoming a standing joke. Lindsay Graham without the cornpone accent.

Yes. If you're making an accurate point while clawing your fingernails on a chalkboard, I'm going to change the station. Besides, his point was like a good Onion headline: sufficient in one sentence.

I was kinda hoping this involved drinking...

Is this supposed to be an example of media bias?

And, again, another example of those on the left fawning over "celebrity" for their political/policy guidance.

McCain skewered himself with no help required from Stewart.

I enjoyed the segment, as McCain's own words covered his hypocrisy quite well.
