Jimmy Carter is a very fine man who has led a remarkable life. I wish him some quality times with the family he loves so much, and then a painless and peaceful passing.“Former President Jimmy Carter has decided to receive hospice care after several short hospital stays, according to a statement from the Carter Center Saturday.
“After a series of short hospital stays, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention,” the statement reads. “He has the full support of his family and his medical team.”

I didn’t support Carter, as President, but have developed great respect for him over the decades since.
A truly good man who has led an exemplary life.

Agree--------how we could use his character in our leaders today.....“Former President Jimmy Carter has decided to receive hospice care after several short hospital stays, according to a statement from the Carter Center Saturday.

Very much so.Agree--------how we could use his character in our leaders today.....
I concur with this. A man who acknowledged his imperfections, was not particularly suited for the office of president, but certainly represented Christianity in a way politicians today would find impossible to reconcile with their political ambitions, i.e. more closely aligned with Christ's teachings.OMG this is so sad but yes, ninety-eight is a pretty good run.
I just hate to lose this man, one of the very remaining good, honest decent Christians who tried his best to lead by example.
He feels like a throwback to an age and mentality that is largely lost in present day American politics. How many of us can say that we helped as many people as that man?
when GIVING was more important than TAKING.He feels like a throwback to an age and mentality that is largely lost in present day American politics.
Mine too.He had a good long life and did much good in his travels.
He was the first president I voted for.
Yeah........I'm a old ****.
How many of us can say that we helped as many people as that man?
well, he did get > 40 million votes in 1976 and > 35 million in 1980.Fewer than the number of people who voted for him in 1976.
