Jim Jordan will now have to answer questions under oath about wrestling team scandal

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who chairs the powerful House Judiciary Committee, will soon be questioned under oath in a sworn deposition, according to a new report.

According to Columbus, Ohio-based NBC affiliate WCMH, Jordan will be questioned specifically about what he knew regarding former Ohio State University wrestling team doctor Richard Strauss' sexual abuse of student athletes. WCMH reported Wednesday that Jordan will be deposed this coming Friday in Washington D.C. as part of civil lawsuits former Ohio State wrestlers filed against the school.

Yup! Jimbo will answer truthfully, or he will go to prison for 5 years.

It is about damn time.

“As everyone knows, Chairman Jordan never saw or heard of any abuse, and if he had, he would have dealt with it,” the spokesperson said.

At least four former wrestlers and one referee are on record saying they complained about Strauss to Jordan, a then-assistant wrestling coach.

Somebody's lies are about to get exposed, hopefully.

Being a limpless coward, he'll plead the fifth or blame Biden.
Afterwards, every one of those who files civil lawsuits will be investigated by himself and Idiot Comer.

Isn't it he-i-lar-ious how to a man (or woman) everyone but MAGA's lie? Like no one has ever said a true thing about any MAGA ever.
All just deep state ****ery and/or lies to "make them look bad." Its quite the feat.

or will Jim Jordan just take the 5th.
or he may also respond with " I do not recall"

What is it with Republicans and protecting child predators?
These are former college athletes 😂. What is it with alleged victims of sexual predation waiting 47 years to pop out of the woodwork and demanding to know what somebody knew at 1:33PM on a Thursday in 1978?

See post 13.
No. It's just weird that whenever any group - be it college athletes, women, children - republicans are always at the forefront of either being the perpetrators or protecting the perpetrators.

That isn’t true. What’s weird is a deposition about something someone may or may not have said once 47 years ago. It’s unreasonable.

Here is a list of some reasons why people don’t immediately, or ever, tell that they have experienced sexual assault.

  • Shame: Even though sexual assault is NEVER the fault of the victim, often those who experience it feel as if something is wrong with them for having experienced it. If you are ashamed of something, you are less likely to share it with others.
  • Fear: Fear of not being believed, fear of retribution, fear of how others will react to you and treat you, fear of how police will respond, fear of being ostracized, fear of being judged. These are just some of the types of fear that people may feel when thinking about telling someone what they experienced.
  • Uncertainty: People who experience sexual assault may not know they have rights. As a result, they are less likely to know what they would be required or not required to do if they disclose that they were a victim. They may not know that they don’t have to report to the police*, or that they don’t have to have a rape kit if they don’t want to. People may also be uncertain if what they experienced is assault. Some people don’t recognize a sexual assault as such until someone else points it out to them.
  • Guilt: Sometimes when people experience sexual assault they go over the incident in their head again and again, trying to make sense of what happened to them. Victims may blame themselves, which leads to feelings of guilt. And like shame, when someone believes they are guilty of something, it is difficult to tell others about it.
  • Avoidance: It is not uncommon for people who have experienced sexual assault to want to forget it happened and “move on.” They believe they can do this by not thinking or talking about what happened. Additionally, talking and thinking about a traumatic experience can be painful, thus, people may avoid this at all costs.

And in this particular case, one kid wasn't even old enough to understand what was happening:

Mike DiSabato was one of the first to report that Strauss had groped him during medical exams.[17] (snip) DiSabato, who wrestled at Ohio State from 1987 to 1991, added that his first examination with Strauss occurred at the age of 14, when Strauss was conducting research on the body fat of high school wrestlers; the body fat testing included an unnecessary genital exam.[19] At the time, DiSabato did not recognize Strauss's behavior as sexual abuse and that it was considered an "open secret" amongst the wrestling team.
