They strain the limits of my sympathy, because Trump, Vance, Miller, Loomer, the whole cabal of 'em were not at all coy about what was coming.

She wants unity after voting for racist, fascist division. I scoff.

There is a lot mysterious about this. First, I'd like to see more about why the ICE agents are covering their faces. There could conceivably be unusual circumstances driving a panicked reaction. The role of violent cartels in moving migrants is abundantly well documented - but would they go so far as to attack U.S. law enforcement head on?

However they do it, it's obviously unworkable to have agents identifying themselves in general as "police" of unknown identity and origin. This Dodgers stadium thing just tears it - if you let any group of anonymous armed men waltz into a sports stadium because they say they're some kind of agents, pretty soon you'll go to turn on the game and end up watching your fellow fans get executed one after another for half the night. (To the plus side, the agents quickly backed down, presumably because they realize the stadium couldn't let them in. At least, they did this time.)

Badges aren't enough to stop police impersonators from committing crimes, and these people don't even show badges. And the outfits do look ... low-class. Maybe Trump and Homan should rewatch Star Wars together and think about how they could buff up their image?

One explanation given by SWAT-type units is for slight protection of the face although there is also likely the psychological advantage of anonymity for the officers and intimidation of the public.
