James Webb Space Telescope reveals largest-ever panorama of the early universe

The picture is impressive. However what are we really seeing? Magnification of 4000x + a FOV of three moons put side by side? It's possible but the photograph would be the size of Texas and most parts of the image wouldn't be very interesting.
That there are such large 'blank spots' in that image is only an indication of how large the universe is, and the vast distances between things in that universe.

It's possible that our universe is like a cell or a drop of water and we're one of many.

If the universe is an organism, Earth is a cell and humans are the viruses.

That's the most logical explanation (which I've said for decades and I need to get the credit when it's proven a long, long time from now).

One interesting concept that I have learned about recently is chaos theory. The interesting insight is that chaos can often be self-organizing- through the random interplay of random forces, without intention or design.
Yes, and there's much more to the "self-organization" than strange attractors. Follow-up reading:
  • Chaos, Making a New Science [1987] -- James Gleick
  • Complexity, Life at the Edge of Chaos [1992] -- Roger Lewin
  • Complexification-- John Casti
  • At Home in the Universe, The Search for the Laws of Self-Organization
and Complexity [1995] -- Stuart Kauffman
Kauffman explains:

"...natural selection is important, but it has not labored alone to craft the fine architectures of the biosphere, from cell to organism to ecosystem. Another source -- self-organization -- is the root source of order. The order of the biological world, I have come to believe, is not merely tinkered, but arises naturally and spontaneously because of these principles of self-organization -- laws of complexity that we are just beginning to uncover and understand...."

Oh, don't forget How Nature Works, The Science of Self-Organized Criticality [1996] -- Per Bak

It was three things, but that is fine...

False dichotomy. Have a nice day.

So, you are comfortable spending whatever millions is spent on this instead of spending it on abused women or on starving children or on infrastructure? What about spending the money on stars that are meaningless and that mean nothing to our daily lives instead of ON MANY THINGS that affect us back here on Earth?

I really hope you have a wonderful day and I look forward to hearing from you!

The US can do both. The US 2024 budget for astronomy, space exploration, and research of the cosmos is about 0.5% of the total budget. The money allocated to abused women, starving children, and infrastructure is ten times the amount for the entire space program.

NASA / Space Exploration~$27 billionEntire space program, all missions
Infrastructure~$100–150 billionBridges, roads, broadband, etc.
Child Hunger & Welfare~$150 billionIncludes SNAP, WIC, school meals
Support for Abused Women~$1.2 billionVAWA + HHS/DOJ programs

That 27 billion for space would not drastically help Abused Women who only get 1 billion?
