I am trying to wrap my brain around your logic of registering firearms. There are roughly 300 million firearms in private citizens hands. Let pretend that only 20,000 firearms are used unlawfully. Making all of the people who own the remaining 299,980,000.00 firearms register them does what exactly to prevent crime? As a police officer I just don't understand what you think a registered firearms is going to tell you?

Registered firearms make straw sales very dangerous for the seller. Registration would of course be coupled with a BC

Straw sales are already illegal, punishable by 10 years in prison, and fines of up to $300,000.00! Registering firearms isn't going to make straw sales any more illegal. Fact still remains that the vast majority firearms recovered at crime scenes were reported stolen. You are trying to put out a house fire, with a squirt gun!

The number of actual persons purchasing firearms via straw sale for another person they know are prohibited from owning one are so minuscule, it far from warrants requiring millions of gun owners to take the time to pay a fine to register their firearms that is overseen by the same people who can't manage social security, & health care. Not to mention the millions of gun owners who are not going to comply, and I would not want to be apart of a police department mandated to go door to door to enforce it.

explain how lives are going to be saved by people who would never kill anybody in the first place outside of self defense would have to tell the government they have a gun.

Basically put how does the government knowing I have something magically save lives they know I have a car but that can't stop me from dying behind the wheel.

You seeing "facts" that isn't supported by evidence would not hold water with any judge or jury! In fact you seeing certain things that aren't there might get you detain for 72 hour for a mental health evaluation!

How in Europe in Africa in Australia on Mars does the government knowing about people having guns that but never use them to kill somebody outside of self-defense save lives explain don't tell me you're up does it I don't care I want to know the logic behind it
