Its Just a FORM nonsense

Did you happen to read the link?

There were several interesting bits that show you may be taking the stats out of context and it is not as cut and dry as you present it...

"The risk comes not necessarily from the presence of the gun in the house but from these types of environmental factors and exposures." Is just one.

And as much as you are loath to mention,

"A firearm was used in 68 percent of both homicides and suicides. A larger proportion of homicide decedents than suicide decedents and those who died of other causes were drinking alcohol within 4 hours of death and used illicit drugs in the past year."

So that chart does not show the other risk factors over and above simple gun ownership.

There are many risk factors. But to ignore the gun one is to be willfully blind

Get back to us when you give a rats arse about children...

And what are the allowed limitations, according to SCOTUS?

according to Scalia clerks-he put that in there to recognize state powers concerning laws about using firearms and the federal power grab to deny certain groups their second amendment rights such as convicted criminals. This was done to keep a flip flopping Kennedy on board.

ITs amazing how the gun hating lefties always look to find restrictions on our rights. and yet they can never ever tell us where in the Constitution that limitation was ever mentioned.

armed citizens are far more dangerous for scum bag criminals than unarmed victims. and that is what upsets the criminal coddling gun restricting lefties

Commerce clause. Glad to help. Lol

It would seem they are pretty dangerous for innocent people too. Lol

You've been given the facts sorry if you don't like them. The fact is your youngsters are vastly more at risk of premature death as a consequence of your gun culture than anywhere else in the developed world and by several orders of magnitude

Nahh statistically armed civilians are a far greater risk to each other and those bullets don't care about the politics of those they killl

So, do you believe the current gun laws are too restrictive?

To ignore it implies it is not a factor at all.....which is laughable

They can't even bring themselves to call it a weapon so what other response could you expect ?

This is a sacred object that cannot be blighted by reason :(

as usual you are lying again because your stupid argument is based on comparing those shot by gun possessors-including suicides and felons-with criminals shot by honest gun owners. that is lying by omission since most crimes stopped by armed citizens do not involve the thugs being slain. SO your argument is without any merit

You also completely ignore and reject, all the value that gun owners get from the recreational or competitive use of firearms. so your argument essentially sucks and has no merit

So, do you believe the current gun laws are too restrictive?

laws that only change the legal environment for those who have never been adjudicated irresponsible in their gun ownership should be removed. Laws that violate the second and tenth amendments should be stricken immediately. Gun bans that prevent honest citizens of age from owning any firearm or require special licenses or taxes are anathema to our Constitution. Crap like waiting periods or limits on how many guns you can buy or own in a given period of time are completely unconstitutional. The only "gun control laws" that have any merit are ones that punish the use of firearms that harms innocents or is so reckless that said use has a high probability of harming people or property. Example, a municipal code that prevents the discharge of firearms in the open in an urban environment have merit. So are laws that prevent those under the influence of narcotics or alcohol from possessing firearms in public.

You need to stop lying. The truth is too obvious

I couldn't care less about sareguarding your 'fun' because of the collateral damage your society must endure as a consequence of it so you are right

Of course you don't. Your posts demonstrate you are hateful of our rights and you want to ruin the hobbies and even occupations of millions who support recreational shooting sports in this nation. Its the Aesop fox syndrome. And I couldn't care less if you are upset about our rights. We plan on keeping them and we won't give them up to satisfy the seething hatred of foreign subjects who are envious that we are freer than they are.

And some of us will fight for gun control to save lives

Sorry but your 35,000 + needless gun deaths per year don't really square with that :)

No one here is ignoring it. Not sure why you would even want to mischaracterize that position.

most of those are suicides or criminals killing criminals. sorry to rain on your anti gun rant but no laws are going to stop those. and you know that but you still pretend the way to stop someone who is already banned from possessing a gun is to make it illegal

oh it already is

and given some countries with complete gun bans have higher rates of suicides than the USA does, claiming gun bans will decrease suicides is contradicted by ACTUAL facts
