Italians stoned to death in Cape Verde

ROME, Feb. 11 Officials in Rome said two Italian women were stoned to death and a third was left for dead in the tourist resort of Cape Verde.

I don't know if the perps who stoned them are Muslims or not--if they are--this should be big news on the Mainstream media; if not, let's move on? Pretty sad times.

What you said reminds me of conservatives who complain about the media's portrayal of Iraq. I guess if you're stoned to death. The people who stoned ya probably have some sort of connection to muslims. Never you mind that stoning has been practiced by almost every religion around today.

There isn't even a remote indication that the perps were Muslim, why do you even question if they are or not? What does that even have to do with it?

Does this sound familiar. They have not released the idenity of the 3 men that did this yet. I could be wrong, but I would venture to say that they are muslim.

According to the CIA fact book there are no Muslims in that territory.
Religions:
Roman Catholic (infused with indigenous beliefs); Protestant (mostly Church of the Nazarene)

BS...there are Muslims everywhere.....just because they are not listed in a book doesnt mean that there are no Muslims there....so stop being a typical liberal and run to their defense when you dont know the whole story......who's to say that these people who committed this crime arent Muslims on vacation looking to teach some western women a lesson? Wouldnt be that far off base because they somehow got into America and crashed three planes without the CIA knowing they were here......:roll:

Based on the facts. That is the way muslims stone women to death. They bind their hands cover them in a white cloth then bury them to their chest . The blood seeps through. Its awful. If you search you can find video of this on the net. I have seen it but I will not post it here.

However, in some Islamic cultures people a executed simply for being gay.

Women are executed for being raped. If her family dosn't kill her first for bringing dishonor to the family (honor killings)

It fits the M.O. I do not know if these men were muslim or not. I do know that muslims travel. We do not know because they will not release the Idenity of the men.

All im saying is it sounds like something I have been researching for quite some time.

Common sense should tell you that the likelyhood they are Muslims in that part of the world is remote. I was insulted frist. I answer in kind. Keeep that in mind and well get along just fine. My retort was simply in kind. If you can't see that reread the whole post.

Could you please elaborate. I have never heard of Buddhists or Jewish folks stoning people, for instance,and didn't think stoning was especially prevelent in other religions, either.

In which other religions is this common practice?

You should read the Mary Magdalene story in the bible.. Bunch of jews got together and wanted to stone a jewish woman to death. Very famous jew comes along and tells them "Let he who is free of sin cast the first stone". Really interesting. I heard he later was found to be the son of some "God" guy.
 

Actually, most people think that those convicted in the Salem witchcraft trials were burned at the stake, which is not true. Most were either drowned, stoned, or crushed between 2 heavy rocks.

Peine Forte et Dure. An 80 year old man was killed this way during the Salem witch trials. Giles Corey. They'd put a board on you and then people would pile rocks on it. Horrible way to die by any standards.
 
My wife being Japanese looked up public stoning in Japan. None since at least 1865.

Stoning is not uncommon even in the 20th century in Greece, Southern Italy and Spain as well as in some areas of South America.

It appears common in Africa in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries. But according to some it is mainly Muslims. So if you see a Muslim on the street don't flip him the bird use a stone. He'll understand.:roll: :roll:
 

If Im not mistaken that happened some 2000 years ago. We are talking about the 21st century.
