It Must Really Suck For You People

MAGA folks are incapable of second-order thinking.

Trump's fiefdom on full display. A true 2 class society whereby the middle class becomes extinct.

Here is a story of what Trump said about taking guns away and due process in 2018.

My prediction:

Once the initial honeymoon period ends after 10 months, and the focus turns to the upcoming midterms, a legislatively stymied Trump will turn to self-enrichment.

He has never done anything except for self-enrichment. He has zero interest in governance or legislation, and that is what will stymie him.

What also sucks is the stock market didn't crash and all the CEOs that wouldn't endorse his are suddenly knocking on his door.

To the contrary I support securing our border allowing only legal immigration. I also support regulating guns to people who have committed crimes with a gun to protect the law abiding.

Agreed. Very much so, actually.

Trump's economy was fine. Biden's was even better, as long as your income kept up with or surpassed inflation. I do get that those on fixed incomes bore a heavy burden, though.

Many of us gained a lot of equity in the markets and in property appreciation, though. Significant equity.

I personally never worked & billed more hours than in the 18 months following the pandemic. More-so than during the Clinton dotcom years, which I never thought would be surpassed. I was literally working 7 day weeks, trying to take off every 2nd or 3rd Sunday, until finally I burnt-out and dropped my most demanding client. And then they amazingly responded by asking me to come onboard with them, dangling the possibility of equity sharing (where ostensibly I would continue to work 7 day weeks)!

Quite honestly, this sounds like an excuse to rationalize Trump's inevitable failure in reducing prices to below 2020 levels. It's just not going to happen, and if it did - it would crash the economy.

The only real (non-business) records needed are mortgage interest and property tax deductions. The sales tax deduction can be done as a percentage of income, which is how my accountant does it.

As to paying to have someone do it, I file through my accountant so my fee's pretty much the same every year except for his regular increases.

I swear the best money spent is on a good fairly-priced accountant, that is willing to work for your best interest. It's a very good ROI.

We're the ones preparing for the disaster. Are you?

I'm sorry, are you not getting the wailing and gnashing of teeth you expected?

Personally, I'm just waiting to watch the red states get cornholed by Trump's dumbass ideas.

I'm waiting for Trump to threaten the Blue States or cities with withholding federal funds, only for them to respond by threatening to withhold federal taxes!

Trump's got to remember he & his government work for us, not the other way around. We fund the federal government, he doesn't fund us.

I'm also getting tired of the MAGA states draining our Blue states of funds too, but that's a whole 'nother issue. Given that they're financial dependent upon us, they sure have a fugged-up way of showing gratitude.

I know I don't "hate Trump", but I DO hate the ignorance that put him back in. There is a big difference there.........

It does suck. For EVERYBODY except for criminals, perverts, thieves, liars, and traitors (GQP and MAGA) and those who support them.
Who the president is has that much effect on your life? Where did you go wrong?

Unfortunately, cynical hypocrisy and pathological denial is far more common on both sides of the divide than is deliberative and informed understandings of the other side. I have not yet looked at responses to your post (I assume there are some) but no doubt you have triggered a clichéd list of objections. Here is my checklist of the usual:

"I am not against border control, but it's too expensive and I just know it won't work to use walls, large fines, detention in camps, "encounters" (arrests) beyond the border, raids...yada, yada, yada. But ya of course I am against illegal migration".

" I am not in favor of illegal migration, but can't we use less judgmental and nicer terms like "undocumented migrants"?

" I am not in favor of illegal migration but it's impossible to send any back".

" I am not in favor of illegal entry but it's too harsh to segregate families and children after they are caught."

" I am not in favor of illegal workers, but we can't send them back because our economy will collapse without enough yard workers, dishwashers, nanny's, and illegal migrant farm labor."

"I am against illegal migrants so why not give everyone caught or turning themselves in at the border legal documentation making their crossing and employment legal".

"I am for legal immigration, so we ought to give amnesty to all to make them legal and then raise the legal limits to immigration to 20,000,000 a year because more is better."

The point here is that those holding the above opinions are not against self-approved entry, they just want to make sure that the millions who wishes to move here can, and they fill out the paperwork needed to provide them jobs, benefits, and protection from deportation... ie a legal status and a "path to citizenship".

For those who are lying to themselves, and/or to us, they keep insisting they are not for open borders, because they actually support open borders with paperwork attached.

Go figure.

Bloody he'll its worse than I thought if you guys are having to ration salt.

No wonder people are angry.

Yeah, but we still got our ammo & Jack. We'll get by!

This thread sucks and seems completely gratuitous and information-free.

What also sucks is the stock market didn't crash and all the CEOs that wouldn't endorse his are suddenly knocking on his door.
Because their scared about what he might try to do. Their knocking on his door in order to curry favor with him. Which is more proof of his authoritarian tendencies. Us little guys have been saying it all along. Now the big corporate CEOs and owners are just proving we were right.

The overall survival of our democracy depends on just how many and how hard the corporate world pushes back on Trump. If they all capitulate, welcome to a carbon copy of the early years of Putin's reign. We already see it beginning to happen.

You don't gain credibility by being buddy-buddy after the fact. The people that endorsed him when he was struggling are his real friends and supporters. And that's like over half the people. Truth is these CEOs always supported him (because he's pro-business) but there were forced to display loyalty to Biden and the Democrats just in case he lost.
