Southern Hemisphere?

What areas in particular?

Moving to a shrinking population model might be good for the planet, but it is unsustainable with modern economic structures. The whole western economic model would need a massive rewrite and likely a massive drop in living standards.

The Global South, you say? Like Australia? Or someone else?

Note he said global south.

Most of Africa, India etc. Countries in which education levels are low along with living standards. Fewer children means investing more in each, which generally means a more productive future.

Having more than 3 makes sense only for sustenance farmimg, which does not provide a good living standard

One must add, in countries with little to no industrialization that have little to no developed social safety nets, if you manage to survive to old age your children are who support you in your old age. You have as many of them as you possibly can, because they are most certainly your only hope for having a future.

But your country has to industrialize and urbanize before you exercise the option of having fewer children.

If it was Twitter Elon would retweet it claiming he was the one who tweeted it in the first place.
No, Elon is big on having lots of babies.

A 0, 1, maybe 2 child policy should be adopted worldwide. The planet is already overpopulated. Having more kids will only exacerbate the problem.

A zero child policy?
