It is now clear that the Republican Party favors autocracy.

The Trump Presidency and the six conservative justices on the Supreme Court chosen by Republican Presidents (three by Trump) prove that point.

The Supreme Court released its ruling limiting the ability of judges to block President Donald Trump's executive orders even if they violate our laws and/or our Constitution.

The Republican justices showed a clear preference for the Imperial Presidency.

The Republican chosen conservative justices think they are above the law.

They make controversial decisions such as the one above leading toward an imperial Presidency, and they make no attempt to justify their decisions to the American people.

This is all we have concerning the un-American decision they just made that makes the Presidency above the law.

After Supreme Court term, Chief Justice Roberts shrugs off ‘venting’ by those who lost

It may be time for Congress and the White House to change the omnipotence of the Supreme Court. They have way too much power and they answer to no one, not even the American people.

At least we know Trump is calling the shots. With Biden we'll never know who the real puppet master was.

What rights guaranteed by the Constitution do we still have?
Freedom of speech?
Freedom of assembly?
Freedom of religion?
Freedom of unlawful search and seizure?
Freedom of birthright citizenship?
We can hoard as many guns as we want, at least for now.

The Constitution is now null and void and, with that, the Republic as we knew it no longer exists.
The United States of America no longer exists except in name only.

America without Constitution.webp

It is time for states to prepare for life outside of the Federal Government.
Whatever threat comes with that is already a foregone conclusion and a done deal as of January 21, 2025.
No matter what a state does or does not do, those threats and plans for action were already drawn up long before
Election Day.

If you live in a red state, things you depended on will be taken away.
If you live in a blue state, you will be punished for disloyalty.

Again, as I said, it's a done deal and it was a done deal long before the election.

Sorry, but you are engaging in extreme hyperbole. In other words, you are doing a Chicken Little.

The Supremes didn't give Trump any special powers with their ruling. They only limited district courts. They ruled that district courts cannot impose blanket injunctions. The suits that were brought before those district courts are still active. Trump may or may not win those court battles. But...the court battles have to be played out WITHOUT nationwide injunctions.

Why don't you just admit that what really chaps your ass is that corrupt/activist judges can't hamstring the sitting president with a nationwide injunction anymore.

The injunctions will continue. Difference will be, instead of any one Federal District Court issuing a nationwide injunction, Federal District Courts across the country will begin issuing injunctions, district by district, leaving just those citizens unfortunate enough to be living in heavily red (MAGAt) districts unprotected from unconstitutional and anti-American Traitor Trump EO’s.

I'm sure Hungarians take great solace in the fact Orban is "calling the shots".

Ditto Russians re putin.

North Koreans re Kim Jong Un.

Chinese re Xi.

I'm down.

Never liked most of the country anyway.

I am not talking secession, although if you want to get technical, with the Constitution no longer of any value and no longer possessing any legal force, there's nothing to SECEDE FROM.
The republic that the Constitution describes no longer exists if Trump is able to negate its power.
It is time to force his hand, no matter the risk and no matter the cost, because the price we will be forced to pay, we're going to be forced to pay it anyway; if he views a state or several states as disloyal, he's going to attack them anyway. So it is time to bring matters to a head and make him pay the maximum price.
States need to band together and refuse to follow his orders or the orders of the Supreme Court and since he's already eager to do Proud Boy Oath Keeper cosplay, make him ratchet it up to max level. People are already beginning to revolt against it anyway, certain police departments are showing signs that they don't want to help anymore.
Guard isn't being paid or accommodated properly.
By doing so he is forced to overextend and get out over his skis to the point where his own fan base begins to object, if for no other reason than he is forced to devote too much money and too much energy attacking states.

Trump and his gang cannot afford to take this to the wall, as much as he would like to believe. He will not have sufficient support because he will be attacking people's families, their friends, coworkers, and the economy itself. If the entire West Coast, California, Oregon and Washington, refuse to abide by his decrees, and they are joined by all of New England, all of the Northeastern Atlantic states and Midwest states like Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan, it will begin to break the will of the Republican Party as they try and fail to explain and justify these attacks as they stretch into months. These states can refuse to send their funds to Washington and since he is already threatening to withhold federal funds for them anyway, he's already played his cards and now he will be forced to make good on those threats, and the results will backfire on him a lot worse than on those states.

The red states will not get the blue state welfare they expect and they will revolt.
Military morale is at an all time low right now, imagine how much worse it will get.
They will begin to refuse to follow illegal orders or slow walk them to ineffectiveness.
Illegal and unconstitutional paramilitary actions will be exposed.

I cannot imagine a single scenario where this works out in Trump's favor and I haven't even factored in his gross incompetence yet.
It will be painful, it will be bloody, it will hurt a lot of people but that was already the future anyway because there is also no scenario where either side emerges from this unscathed.
At least make it count for something worthwhile, like defending democracy and the rule of law.

As long as this was just performative theater, a lot of people are happy to eat popcorn and watch and laugh but at some point it ceases to be entertainment.
It's just that some people already see the pattern developing and the rest are just floating along and watching.
When "the shit starts to get real" a lot of people are going to want it to stop.
I say that even among the comparatively uninformed, most will not want it to get "too real".

Call his bluff, blue states, make him have to put off his golf games, make him unable to sleep peacefully, stress him out to the point where he begins to worry about everything falling apart on his watch, make him wonder why his lies are no longer being believed. Make the big corporate masters of the universe start to get anxious about this ruining their portfolios and nest eggs, make them wonder if maybe they went a little too far.

Ditto Russians re putin.

North Koreans re Kim Jong Un.

Chinese re Xi.

1. We already saw how poorly trained and ineffective North Korean troops are.
2. Russia is begging for help from outside the country, everything is stretched paper thin now.
3. Hungarians are beginning to revolt against Orban.
4. China does not want to get dragged into this in the worst way.

And consider the fact that most Russians and Hungarians are not armed like we are.
North Koreans and Chinese most definitely are not armed.

But WE ARE and believe it or not, plenty of non-MAGA loyalists are very well armed and their patience is wearing thin.
It will only take a few more brazen acts of meanness and cruelty to trigger an insurgency and I am not talking about ICE goons hurting immigrants.
For instance, at some point, I guarantee you he's going to flirt with canceling the Second Amendment and demand people turn in their guns.

How do you think that is going to fly?

Man you have gone full on conspiracy theorist. Seeing you turn into leftwing mags has been interesting to watch

You should probably take this kind of silliness to the part of the forum designed for it.

Keep on making this thread "about me", please by all means continue. 😆

It sure looks that way to me.

Oddly enough, in 2022 Kagan voiced support for the very notion the SC ruling recently announced, with the only difference being that a democrat was in the WH. I guess principles change with the tide for some. One could expect a little more devotion to principles from a SC Justice, I think.

How much do you wanna bet that Democrats will LOVE this ruling the next time a Democrat president is in power?

What would have been easier was Biden going with his initial gut-feeling and raising the Supreme Court to 13 justices, and immediately naming 4 new dem justices. This is exactly what the cons would have done, and still may do. The dems never understood the new game being played, and it's practically destroyed them. It's too late now though, isn't it?
