And if that happened, less people will die. President Biden has never said he would do a national mask mandate, he said federal mask mandate. It is in place and people must mask in Federal buildings and interstate transportation (plus other federally controlled areas).I predict blue states will recommend all wear masks again everywhere, and Biden will attempt to make a national unconstitutional mandate requiring it as well.

Why not just require proof of vaccination to remain out of jail? After all, those no longer allowed to work or travel are bound to break the law.

First, a factual inaccuracy: there is no reason to suggest that the J & J vaccine is not less effective against the Delta variant. In fact, it was the only one tested in areas where the Delta variant appeared even before it was authorized. Wearing a mask is not enough. They should also stay away from others who are not vaccinated and from children under 12.I have a relative, wife's side of the family, who won't get vaccinated, and he's not stupid (well...not normally) and he's not a conservative, and his wife and the rest of us just can't figure it out. He's masking up, if nothing else, and I asked my wife, "So, uh, what's this guy's plan, exactly? Is he just going to wear a mask for the rest of his life?"
