I watched the vid, and I can see she was definitely harassing them but, where does one draw the line?
It's difficult to say. Surprise is a rural town out here, not super hip. lol
Skip Hall is a bit of a hardline old school republican, a war veteran, and obviously didn't take kindly to the interruption but, I don't think manhandling someone in front of their child was cool. Maybe just let some time pass, wasted time isn't that big of a deal right? So you miss out on a session that day, not that big of a deal. IMO.
I totally agree with you. People need to understand that government has ALL the power and the people are there for no other reason than to validate whatever government says and does. Resistance is treason and the ****ers on the ground need to be taught regularly who is boss!!!
It's the only way we can save democracy.
I see her contorting herself so she can't be apprehended. And shoving an officer, however lightly, is technically an assault. So … you wanna make this worse for her?
Happy to see we agree. She didn't hurt anyone.
Again, I can’t speak to the issue in the OP but once you get into personnel issues board members must follow rules and laws. Often personnel issues must be discussed in private sessions during scheduled board meetings and there are often strict rules as to who, what, when and where. There board normally breaks from the open meeting and goes into private or executive session in a closed room until the matter at hand is addressed upon which the board returns to the public meeting. It’s fairly standard procedure in my experience.
Ah poop, you wrote personnel and I read personal.
Thanks for the explanation. Need to mull this over I guess.
No worries ole friend. We always must allow for a bit of confusion when translating between Canadian and American.
lol...yes, I guess you're right. I was gonna throw a jab back, but given that I'm the one who goofed, I better stay humble...hehe...
America is not a democracy, but a constitutional republic. But that's besides the point, which is that your argument isn't really accurate. She got trespassed for breaking council meeting rules, not for criticism. Council meetings will always have rules to allow for organized and efficient discourse. Otherwise anyone can go there and yell over every other speaker to prevent any progress.how democracy works in America
Did you watch the video? She wasn't disruptive in the least. The mayor just flipped out when she started talking about why a pay raise for the city attorney wasn't warranted.America is not a democracy, but a constitutional republic. It's time for a FBI raid on the offices of those officials.https://mynbc15.com/news/nation-wor...-wingo-mayor-skip-hall-first-amendment-rights
Massie has, based on reports, since been charged with felony resisting arrest.

This is how democracy works in America these days. If you criticize government you will be subjected to the most onerous charges that government can think of to bring against you. Resistance to the will of government MUST be stopped by whatever means necessary or we can no longer have a democracy!!!
Yep.Did you watch the video?
Nope. She wasn't disruptive in the least. The mayor just flipped out
Spreading bullshit seems to be the past-time of the MAGA terrorists.Yep.
Nope.

I'm responding to OP's question and commenting on his claim. You're doing the usual ad hom.Spreading bullshit seems to be the past-time of the MAGA terrorists.
Wrong as usual.
We are a representative democracy.
In any event, when the lawsuit starts, the city will pay her off and mayor jackboot will be forced to resign.

Wake me up when it happens.
