When I meditate on God's perfect love, I can't help but ask the same question David asked..."What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?"
When we see unevenly matched relationships, we sometimes ask, "What does she see in him?"
In Psalm 8:4, David asks God a similar question:
"What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?"
David was marveling at the glory of the heavens, and it made him wonder why such a magnificent Creator had placed such glory, honor and privilege on mankind.
Hadn't God created a perfect world ... and mankind messed it up?
Hadn't mankind been mocking and rejecting God's love ever since?
Why did this marvelous God love sinful mankind?
David's question was spot on.
Most men shake their fists at God and ask why He doesn't do more.
But David was in shock and awe that the Creator of the moon and stars would love him.
It bears repeating: David's response is the right one.
Take a moment today to study the sky and ponder David's question.
