Israel Responds Sharply to Greta Thunberg After 'Stand with Gaza' Post

The State of Israel responded to a social media post by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg Friday in support of Palestinians.

"The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected," the 20-year-old posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Israel's X account, managed by the Middle Eastern country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, did not mince words as it fired back just over an hour after Thunberg's second version of the tweet.

Greta Thunberg Removed from Israeli Curriculum Over Gaza Support

Israel has announced that it will remove all references to Greta Thunberg from its school curriculum, after the Swedish climate activist expressed support for Gaza.

The Israeli education ministry said Ms Thunberg had disqualified herself from “being an educational role model” after she was photographed last week holding up a sign that read “stand with Gaza”.

“Hamas is a terrorist organisation responsible for the murder of 1,400 innocent Israelis, including children, women, and the elderly, and it has abducted over 200 people to Gaza,” said the ministry.

Week 270 of what -- her lifetime of unemployed activism?

I found this interesting....

Thunberg's original post included a picture of her with three other activists with signs that read, "Free Palestine," "Climate Justice Now," "This Jew Stands With Palestine" and "Stand With Gaza." It was deleted because it included a blue octopus that had a frowning face and was sitting on one of the activists’ legs, which she said she had not realized could be viewed as an antisemitic symbol.

Moments later, Thunberg shared a nearly identical photo – the same four people holding the same four signs – this time with the stuffed animal cut out of the photo.

I had no idea that a blue octopus was an antisemitic symbol. But given how absolutely specific this is, I find it hard to believe she picked THAT toy by coincidence.

For goodness' sake!

Israel has suffered its first pogrom.

Yet it takes time to acknowledge what some spoiled Swedish child has to say?

Amazing!

It's an autism octopus meant to non-verbally convey emotions....

I suggest Thunberg and crew throw soup at paintings and superglue themselves to something (other than that there is shit they can do about this.)

I get that this is what she said. It would also be an amazing coincidence that she happened to have that stuffed animal and chose to include it in the picture.

Conservatives hate cancel culture... unless it's to their benefit.

Get back to us if she voices support for Hamas. Saying she supports the Palestinian People should be no more controversial than saying you support the Israeli People.

Fascinating. So she supports the people of Gaza, not Hamas, and now she's being removed from its school curriculums? So this is what she is advocating:

Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected.

One would think she came out in full support of Hamas and called for an end to Israel. I get why the Israeli government wants no challenge to their strategy, but what's more interesting is the cancelling of opposing views looking for a more tempered hand.

What is it you don't agree with?
Her simplistic view of the conflict.

It's easy to say one stands with Gaza and not Hamas, but when Hamas sends terrorists into Israel to kidnap, rape, and murder civilians before running back to hide among innocents how is Israel supposed to respond?

She is so ignorant and a liar.

She lives a very good life yet the people of Gaza are held hostage by Hamas for their own means.

Interesting how quickly and conveniently some people forget why Israel is taking the offensive against Hamas...

Interesting how quickly and conveniently some people forget that Hamas uses women and children as human shields. - and places them in areas they know will be targeted by Israel, so they can score international sympathy points

While both are a tragic end to human life, there is a huge difference between accidentally killing civilian's while trying to target Hamas vs. intentionally killing defenseless civilians including babies face to face. The mental state of the latter is beyond repair.

Thunberg speaks to a reality and Israel is furious? No surprise.

She may technically have autism, but I'm guessing that on a scale of 1 to 10, she's probably around .5 (Less than 1)

"Spoiled"? How do you figure that? Furthermore that young lady has more social awareness and smarts than many on this forum, leaping to condemn her, have.

Here we go again.
The IDF challenged the Israeli High Court's ruling that using human shields was illegal, preferring to continue the practise. A war crime, lest you forget, committed by both belligerents.

Climate cultism rots the brain. News at 11.

Protests tend to be simple in their message.

Can I say I stand with Israelis while being opposed to the apartheid practices of the state?

Getting sick of the "Oh, I don't support Hamas, I support the Jew haters in Gaza" crowd.
