'We need to commit genocide because Hamas are like ISIS. MEANWHILE...'

Israel is reportedly transferring weapons to “ISIS-linked” militia clans in Gaza to assist in the fight against Hamas.

The policy was questioned in the Knesset by Yisrael Beiteinu MK Avigdor Lieberman, a former finance and defence minister, and has apparently been confirmed by Israel’s Channel 12.

Now a senior figure in the Opposition, Lieberman accused the IDF of arming “crime families” in the Strip with the approval of prime minister Netanyahu.

He told Kan: “Israel has provided assault rifles and light weapons to crime families in Gaza, on Netanyahu's orders.

"The weapons are being transferred to criminals and offenders and are being directed at Israel.

"In my opinion, it did not pass cabinet approval... We're talking about the equivalent of Isis in Gaza.”

And, according to Channel 12’s Amit Segal, Lieberman was “correct” in his allegations. The Prime Minister’s Office reportedly failed to deny the claims when asked, saying only: “Israel is working to defeat Hamas in various ways on the recommendation of all heads of the security establishment.”

Segal added that Israel “now assists Gazan groups in at least two areas of the Strip”, which he described as “ISIS-linked clans”.

The policy was, he reported, a “project of the Shin Bet and its head, coordinated and approved by the prime minister, defence minister and IDF chief of staff.

While both outwardly Sunni Islamist groups, ISIS and its affiliates have a poor relationship with Hamas, largely due to the latter’s willingness to work with the Shi’ite regime in Iran – and its proxies Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The reports come after it was separately reported that the coalition had secretly set aside NIS 700 million to fund the new aid distribution scheme in Gaza, which is supposed to be run by a private American company without direct Israeli influence.

A Kan report, citing unnamed government officials, claimed the large sum of money was diverted to an unclear source obliquely referred to as “the defence establishment”.

Furthermore, it is alleged that the government tried to keep the transfer of funds a secret due to the fact it would be highly unpopular with the Israeli public, particularly its hard-right voter base.

The coalition has denied the reports, insisting: “The State of Israel is not funding humanitarian aid to Gaza.”

Title says ISIS. Thread quotes some guy from channel 12 (no like to channel 12 posted?) claiming "clans" are "ISIS-linked". Is there something beyond the words of some dude called Amit Segal on whatever "Channel 12" is?

I also see the name Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman. Curious. Yisrael Beytenu is apparently another right-wing nationalist party in Israel, which split from Likud.

It's a rival of Likud, since for example it supports drafting Haredi Jews (branch of Orthodox) into the military, whereas a big part of Likud's strategy to hold on to power. So bear that in mind.

Arming militia often backfires. It's something we've done countless times over - mujahideen anyone? - and is probably a very bad idea. It'd be nice if the OP was an attempt to analyze the situation as it is, rather than claiming "Israel caught arming ISIS"

Note what extremism does: he not only falsely claims Israel armed ISIS, but he uses the word "caught" to insinuate complicity. But what sense does it make to say "caught" when Israel is saying that it is doing this?

From what I see,

The head of the militia, Yasser Abu Shabab, has been given arms by the Israeli military that it found inside Gaza during the war, according to an Israeli official. A video released this week by Abu Shabab’s militia, which calls itself the Popular Force, shows armed men carrying what appeared to be M16 and Kalashnikov rifles patrolling the streets. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video posted to his Instagram page, confirmed that Israel is supporting groups in Gaza opposed to Hamas after an opposition lawmaker publicly talked about the Israeli effort and portrayed Abu Shabab’s group as a terrorist organization. “What’s wrong with this? It is good. It saves the lives of Israeli soldiers,” Netanyahu said.
Abu Shabab, 34, denies that he is armed by Israel and says he is instead backed by the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority didn’t respond to requests for comment, but a spokesman for its security forces said the group doesn’t possess any weapons in Gaza.
[continues; no mention of ISIS; notes Hamas has repeatedly tried to kill Abu Shaba; Shabab and Israel accuse Hamas of stealing aid to fund its war effort; notes Abu Shabab himself also looted aid trucks]

Gazan transportation company owners, truck drivers, and international humanitarian officials have accused Mr. Abu Shabab of running a sophisticated operation, saying his group had looted trucks filled with sacks of flour. Georgios Petropoulos, a senior United Nations official who was based in Gaza last year, called him “the self-styled power broker of east Rafah.” In an interview in November 2024, Mr. Abu Shabab, thin and lightly bearded, denied he looted a large number of aid trucks, although he conceded that his men — armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles — had raided half a dozen or so since the start of the war. “We are taking trucks so we can eat, not so we can sell,” he said, asserting that he was feeding his family and neighbors. “Every hungry person is taking aid.” He accused Hamas of being primarily responsible for stealing the aid, an accusation that Hamas has denied.
.
.
The Palestinian Authority, the West Bank-based rival of Hamas, has declined to comment on reports of connections between Mr. Abu Shabab and its government. Maj. Gen. Anwar Rajab, spokesman for the Palestinian Authority security services, told The New York Times: “I will issue a statement clarifying everything soon, as the matter is complex and involves overlapping security, political, and — most importantly — humanitarian factors.” . . . In November, Hamas security forces raided Mr. Abu Shabab’s neighborhood, killing more than 20 people, including his brother, according to Mr. Abu Shabab.

The only claims of "ISIS-linked" I seem to be seeing are coming from the head of a right wing nationalist party, some of whose positions clash with Likud in major ways, and "Amit Segal" from "Channel 12".

What we've got here is a likely unwise move to arm their enemy's enemies, not a secret arming of ISIS. I'd say this kind of blind attack on Israel is even worse than a blind defense. If you really care about the situation and solutions, you need to look under every pebble. If you just blindly blast away, end up indirectly cast doubt on other criticisms with your extremism. (And that's bad, because despite Israel's duty to fight a bloody war, there's an awful lot Bibi/Likud does that absolutely deserves more than 'criticism'). Which is why I put virtually no stock in anything I see posted by OP's creator.

They're not ISIS linked. They faught against ISIS forces in Sinai, so they can't be ISIS linked.

First, this is what is happening as you said. Second, it's worse than that.

When the rogue state murdered dozens of Palestinians they lured for food, at first they issued videos they falsely represented as showing the people with no violence.

When that was debunked, they released videos claiming they showed it was Hamas murdering the civilians.

Those videos were geolocated, and it was found that they were of Hamas fighting the criminals gangs the rogue state was backing who were trying to steal the aid, in a different location and another time.
