Following World War II, the newly created United Nations passed a resolution by which two states would have been created, one "Israel" and one "Palestine". Israel wasn't a creation of Britain, but rather was a creation of the United Nations. Israel was willing to accept the boundaries created by the United Nations and declared independence with those boundaries. The Arabs are the ones who refused the decision of the United Nations and decided to invade Israel. Israel was fighting a defensive war and acquired territory following that war. Completely justified.

One is Iraq. One was Transjordan and the other was Palestine. Palestine is modern-day Israel and the occupied territorties. Transjordan is the present boundaries of the nation of Jordan, on the other side of the Jordan River (hence the name Transjordan.)
There were both Jews and Arabs living in Palestine when the British gained the mandate. Jews had been settling in Palestine for a long time as they were welcome by the ruling Turks for centuries. In 1948, the United Nations passed a resolution creating the nation-states of Palestine and Israel. Israel accepted the decision of the UN. The Arabs did not, choosing to invade in violation of the United Nations CHarter.

There are endless facts involved in this issue in these United Nations documents and summaries. Almost all of them result in the land belonging to the Palistinians.

The legally binding events are 1. the awarding of the mandate to Britain by the League following World War I, and 2. The creation of the State of Israel by the United Nations in 1948. That resolution created two states, Israel and Palestine. Israel accepted it and declared independence. The Arabs did NOT accept the UN declaration and declared war.

Anyway, a mandate means that Britain was to manage the country until the people were ready to govern themselves. When Palestine was ready to govern themselves...it was supposed to be just that...Palestine...not Israel...lol

Thr restraint of the Jews is amazing. If my children had been targeted with bombs I would be covered in Arab blood, head to toe, day and night, for a long, long time.
