Islam at it's core would want to over throw the Constitution

Think you misspelled Trumptards.

Islam must follow the United States Laws.
HO....POTUS:

Why? Islam is much bigger and widespread than just America. If you mean Muslims living in the United States of America, then yes, they must follow the US constitution as they are subject to its protections and responsibilities. But Islam need not.

It would also be nice if the US Government would follow the US constitution, but that may be a bridge too far to hope for.

Cheers and be well.
Evilroddy.

The OP is correct.

So would Catholicism or Mormonism, neither of which are constitutionally democratic in makeup.

Neither is America "constitutionally democratic".
You are wrong yet again. We are a constitutional republic that functions with democratic procedures.

We elect representatives to government (republican democracy) who appoint administrators.

hell, that sounds like both the past and current Confederates.

:) You are such a kidder.

Correct. We are a Constitutional Republic. Not a "constitutionally democratic". It has become bit of a peev of mine with the number of people who pretend to lecture me about our country / government but have no idea what kind of government we have. Nice "bounce-back".

Sure. But that’s true of Christianity as well.

“The clergy believe that any power confided in me will be exerted in opposition to their schemes, and they believe rightly.”
-Thomas Jefferson

“All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.”
-Thomas Paine

“ What influence, in fact, have ecclesiastical establishments had on society? In some instances they have been seen to erect a spiritual tyranny on the ruins of the civil authority; on many instances they have been seen upholding the thrones of political tyranny; in no instance have they been the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wish to subvert the public liberty may have found an established clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate it, needs them not.”
-James Madison

“During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity, in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution.”
-James Madison

Wow!

What a hot potato!

In the coming decades, as the number of Muslims continues to rise, I think that some unpleasant events may arise in this changing country.

I remember reading some years back that Muslim taxi drivers (in Minneapolis, I believe) were refusing to pick up passengers who they thought were consumers of alcohol. The city told them that they could not discriminate on that basis.

And -- who knows -- will this nation follow France in requesting Muslim ladies not to cover their heads in, say, an educational setting?

Oh, yes, various religions have imposed their views on other Americans. Don't forget that for many years the Catholic Church had the power to impose censorship of motion pictures. The head censor (I forget his name) was a devout Catholic.

Well, be peeved then, but I am correct while you slice and dice. We are a Constitutional Republic than is constitutionally democratic in that we elect our representatives.
