This is a great example describing the incredible level of fanaticism the civilized world is facing when it comes to dealing with ISIS.

(CNN)An ISIS fighter has executed his own mother before a public audience, an expat Syrian rights group said.

The 20-year-old killed his mother in the Syrian city of Raqqa, ISIS' de facto capital, as hundreds looked on near the post office where she worked, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

ISIS had accused her of apostasy after her son turned her in...

Islamic State extremists are beyond revolting animals?

Well that's a surprise, said no one ever.

Fanatics like this are just one of the reasons why the civilized world must destroy DAESH (ISIS).

She allegedly had been "inciting her son to leave the Islamic State." She wanted to escape with him and told him "that the coalition will kill all members of the organization."
So I guess Islamic State doesn't have a passport office..

^^^ This ^^^

The issue now becomes, what if anything should we be doing about it?

Oh wait, we already are involved... move along now, little to see here but today's example of disturbing behavior from the worst of humanity.

These stories are approaching the "dog bites man" stage.

They shouldn't though. Killing your mother for wanting to rescue you from a certain death...damn! That's cold.

Yeah, I know, but it's the same reason we hear so little about a shooting in Chicago, we all just assume there is always a shooting in Chicago.

Fanatics of every stripe are killing each other, families and everyone else in the name of religion.

Sad but true. We did however hear about the execution of a 9 year old by rivals of his father's gang. Sometimes, even in killing zones, some killings pop out.

I follow the news pretty close and I don't recall reading any reports of a son shooting his mother in Chicago.

I hope not; as calamity said, it shouldn't. If we reach the point in which somebody killing his own mother produces an "Another day, another dog bite" attitude, then we will have lost some of our own humanity.

In my opinion.

That's not possible. Wait and see, as you like to say.

"The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes just a little bit longer."

ISIS will be destroyed, wait and see.

No it will not, YOU wait and see. Neither the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah nor Hamas has been destroyed either, in fact, for all our efforts, they all are stronger today than ever. You can't destroy a name or ideology that's older than America with American bombs. Someday, somebody's going to practice containment again.

When it's not able to do its dirty business anymore it will have been destroyed and that day will come.

American bombs will speed that process up.

No they won't, American bombs have made the Islamic State possible. Aren't you the guy that said he follows the news. It's obvious why you ignored the meat of my post you quoted.

The Saudi King in 1929 had a perfect solution.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Sabilla

Not quite, the solution was never realized. The battle you mention was handling what was basically tribal rebellion, that once was resolved (and we cannot forget the little role the British played) there was a united Saudi Arabia. Post unification was neither easy or without skirmish here and there. The result was just another brutal dictator anyway, not all that removed from the mentality we see in ISIS now. Outside of Saudi Arabia then or now, chaos without brutal rule. Ideological lunacy and loss of life is normal, has been for generations.

But of course all of that is history, where ultimately we took ally status with this dictatorship. So much so they have wiggled their way into the UN Human Rights Council, the ultimate sick pathetic joke... while we evaluate Saudi Arabia as a solution to anything outside of their usual self-serving, dubious of intentions, and oppressive and brutal rule.

Point I was making is that the only solution is machine-gunning these folks. Call doing that a battle or a massacre. I don't care.

Unlike al Qaeda, ISIS and the caliphate are dependent on having territory to which they can call a homeland. It should be easy enough to annihilate the SOB's since they are right there in plain view.

Lol. Yep, right there in plain view next to grandma and the kiddos. That's why 50% of sorties return with all their ordinance. Or do you too endorse a scorched earth policy to a problem largely of our own making??

You're entitled to your totally wrong opinion.
