If you can't see the difference then I feel sorry for you....
So this is alright?
And this?
But this is wrong?
And it is wrong to show this?
I recall an old co-worker of mine who served in Vietnam relating a story of how his Ranger instructors made his unit go all day without taking a piss. At the end of the day they were lead to a large hole with an American flag laying at the bottom and were told to piss on the flag.
They looked at each other confused, like it was a trick. They hurt from not relieving themselves all day but didn't want to get dropped for ******* on the flag.
Noticing their hesitation the instructors told them that the flag was a symbol, nothing more. True patriotism was in your hart, and nothing that could ever be don to any flag could touch your patriotism.
They promptly pissed on the flag.
But it's ok to use the flag to make a "pro-american" political point? It is wrong to use the American flag to make a anti America political point
Girl wears a flag panty while she's on her monthly cycle. What's the difference?Nope I don't believe so.............If I had my way the flag would not be used for those promotions but I don't put the ones you mentioned in the same league with burning or peeing on the flag.............Not even close.......sorry
Zell MillerIt is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom to abuse and burn that flag.
— General John Stark, at the Battle of Bennington, Vermont in August 1777.My men, yonder are the Hessians.
They were brought for seven pounds and ten pence a man.
Are you worth more? Prove it.
Tonight, the American flag floats from yonder hill or Molly Stark sleeps a widow!
— Robert C. Winthrop (1809-1894), Senator from MassachusettsOur flag is our national ensign, pure and simple, behold it!
Listen to it! Every star has a tongue, every stripe is articulate.
Fiercely Proud American said:...however, to use Old Glory for product advertising purposes no...
I can understand T-Shirts and jackets commemorating a special day of patriotism, and the like - however, to use Old Glory for product advertising purposes no - and btw, don't ever attempt to burn the American Flag in my presence (unless it is being retired), or we will tangle, but that's me.

If you mean showing it at support the troops rallys sure it is ok..........That should not even be a political issue since everyone should support the troops, sadly a lot of prople on the left do not support them for political reasons........
You've yet to answer my question. Is it ok to use the American flag as a commercial gimmick?
I have answered it a dozen time.
It is not a yes or no answer
..........It depends on the situation...
The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.
The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, firefighters, police officers, and members of patriotic organizations. (Note that on Army uniforms, where the flag is put on the sleeve of the uniform, the flag patch is displayed with the stars facing forward, in the direction the wearer is facing. This is done to give the impression of the flag flowing in the wind while being carried forward across the battlefield. This is known as the "Reverse Field Flag".) Flag lapel pins may also be worn.
No you haven't.
It is actually.
No it doesn't. I'll again cite the Flag Code.

I am against desecration of the flag when it comes to peeing on it or burning it...........
So I take it you don't find it disrespectful when it is used as a commercial gimmick? To get people to buy stuff? I guess thats what all those men and women you mentioned died for.
I don't know how you can make the comparison of peeing on or burning a flag but coming from you that is not surprising...........
I'm getting sick of asking you this question. Are you or are you not opposed to the flag being used as a commercial gimmick? Nothing to do with peeing on it. I'm asking if you support the flag being used as a lure to get people to purchase things. Your refusal to answer this very simple question with either of the required answers shows how far into the wall you are.
Come on, you know he's not going to answer, you're just wasting your time asking over and over.
:ranton:You, I, the entire website knows that by NP's standards, if you don't agree with him, you're a liberal leftist facist troop hating anti-american traitor to the USA. :rantoff:I'm getting sick of asking you this question. I see the poll is 15-0.........I guess it makes this poll a non issue and a waste of time.......
