When I read the following article describing "borderline psychopath" Stockton Rush gambling with the lives of all onboard his Titanic submersible despite expert warnings that it was a "mathematic certainty that it would fail" allegedly due to his desire for fame I couldn't help but think it is very similar to Trump's gambling with the economy, the tariffs, the desire to make Canada a state and take over Greenland at the expense and risk of everybody else in the US and the world that would suffer the consequences of his poor judgement in an ill-concieved quest for influence, power and grandeur. He tries to bully allies and major trading partners with tariffs to raise revenue from consumers so he can make his tax cuts permanent for billionaires with no regard for tariffs causing worse inflation, job loss, and supply chain issues not unlike Covid. His "Big Beautiful Bill" in Congress causes worse federal deficits which devalue the dollar, destabilize bond & stock markets, and cause loss of insurance for many who need it the most. Perhaps it should be call the "Big Bankruptcy Bill". Trump has a track record of bankruptcies, disregartd of the Constitution and expert advice, downplaying Covid. conspoitacy theories, bigotry, spreading false information & propaganda, dishonoring war dead and POW's, and crime. His supporters are finally beginning to realize that character and integrity of a President is far more important than falling for a charlatan's fake campaign promises like ending the Ukraine War on his first day in office, lowering egg & grocery prices, lowering inflation, "Making America Great", "Making America Rich" with tariffs. I'm glad I've never voted fore him and never will.

No.

Trump isn't "overconfident" and he's not "gambling".

I agree. Trump is massively insecure, and is no where near smart enough to gamble - i mean, he bankrupted a casino, ffs.

I forgot to include the yahoo news article reference for my comment. It is https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/articles/oceangate-sub-implosion-documentary-goes-133127181.html

You claim Trump isn't overconfident or gambling. What proof do you have that isn't overwhelmed by the global financial & foreign relations, reactions, and results thus far and the predictions by experts of supply chain disasters, worse inflation, and swelling federal deficits.

This is is far more critical than a he said, she said debate.

I see far more evidence Trump's off-the-cuff ego driven trial & error instant gratification gambling & risk taking than of rational rigorous analysis and planning that abides by the advice of experts instead of political yes-men and self interest. Sure, Trump has always been known for preferring tariffs over taxes, but that doesn't prove he knows what he's doing or ever had enough common sense to predict their effect, especially at the absurd levels that he attempts to use to extort deals from allies and trading partners alike. What has his deal with China accomplished? To me his "liberation day" tariffs were like a fireman starting a fire so he could be the one to take credit for putting it out, which in other words means nothing was accomplished other than the damage that the tariiffs did before he made some "deals" to get back to before he was in office. Some refuse to deal with Trump the bully and the ones that do deal with him just humor his ego to get back to what existed before he swamped the boat with his hair-brained tariffs.

The only 'sure thing' is if we keep on this path of being abused by trading partners and booking trillion dollar trade deficits we will end up broke and other counties will own America.

The sub worked for a while and then killed five people due to design flaws. The current administration is much more dangerous for a lot more people, largely due to the systemic incompetence that it is sowing.

This administration is actually opposed to having competent people in positions of power.

All that matters is their ability to lie for Trump on demand.
