Is there going to be an automatic recount for the Casey vs. McCormick Senate race in PA?

Announced in a speech Mr. Casey shared in a social media video Thursday evening, the concession came after mounting pressure from Republicans across the country who said the three-term Democrat had no chance of overcoming Mr. McCormick’s nearly 17,000-vote margin even with thousands of ballots embroiled in court and an automatic recount already underway.

“Thank you for your trust in me for all these years, Pennsylvania,” the characteristically reserved Mr. Casey, 64, said straight into the camera. “It has been the honor of my lifetime.”

According to the McCormick campaign, Mr. Casey had netted only seven additional votes after 16 counties had completed recounts thus far.

I apparently missed the news that Casey conceded last week?

In any case, as I suspected, making up that many votes was going to be difficult or impossible, and it appears the automatic recount has born that out.

But Mr. McCormick’s lead dipped to below 18,000 votes last week, well within the margin of the half-percentage-point needed to trigger an automatic recount. The recount was poised to be completed by Tuesday, with the final results coming from the State Department Wednesday.

I'm not sure what the exact numbers are, but everyone seems to have agreed it's impossible for the recount to discover about 17-18,000 votes.

Edit: Does PA law require the automatic recount to continue even though Casey conceded?

Current "unofficial results" for the Senate race in PA:

1732661776962.webp
McCormick 3,398,920
Casey: 3,383,379

McCormick leads by 15,541 votes

Actually closer than I realized, but almost surely not close enough for the (ongoing?) recount to change the results
