We have background checks for some gun purchases and do not have background checks for other gun purchases.
Got that?
So you want me to do a background check on friends I swap guns with?
Excuse me while I laugh my ass off.
You seriously think for one minute that if I am selling my friend a gun I am going to run down to the FFL dealer pay a fee and have my friend go through a background check? I'll meet ya there. No really just wait ill be right there ....
How does this negate my statement that we only have background checks for some gun purchases and not others?
That is a child's ploy. I have used the same phrase repeatedly in this thread. I think you 100 PERCENT KNOW what "word" was supposed to go there. Or is contest tough for you? I under stand. I have an aunt who doesn't really get sarcasm because she doesn't get the whole context thing.
So. Again. This is a simple or yes or no question. Is there a system in place to background check firearms? Does one exist?
There are background checks for the commercial sale of guns. Private sales are just that, private...
What constitutes a "private sale"?
Do I really need to define this for you? ATF already defines private sales...
Take it up with the Supremes, who most recently upheld that the 2A does not protect every type of Arm. So indeed, a right we do not have which some think we have is the epitome of "no value."
I believe it is important -yes.
A few people have mentioned sales between buddies or friends. Actually, it is much much broader than that and you are well aware of that.
btw - how is a sale for money not "a commercial sale"?
Do I really need to define this for you? ATF already defines private sales...
Don't waste your time - it is just a BS little busy request.
Anyone of average intelligence know the difference between commercial and private sales.
It depends on whether or not a person is engaged in the business of purchasing and then selling guns for a profit. If one simply sells a gun they've had but no longer need or want, then it's a private sale. Whereas a person who regularly purchases guns for the expressed purpose of resale would need to hold an FFL and perform background checks before a sale could be completed...

No. Children write better and clearer than you seem to do.
I have no idea what "a system that is 100 in existence "means because it makes no sense and is really butchering the English language.
What part about this grammatically correct written sentence do you fail to comprehend?

We have background checks
So selling some guns out of my trunk in an alley of Detroit to some "friends" is okay?
Do you want a serious discussion or not?
Have you been in this thread at all?
No, I jump in when I can, but I have a feeling that I could accurately guess the tone of the thread without reviewing a single post...
Perhaps then you can explain how a sale for money is not a COMMERCIAL SALE?
If you are of "average intelligence" that is according to your own qualifier.

What do you find funny about giving your gun to somebody with a violent criminal background with gun abuse or history of mental illness?
A diversion and time wasting insult. You seem to be losing your temper. Let me help you. If you answer the question truthfully...I will stop asking you.
That statement is wrong. The background check is not conducted on firearms. It seems your grammar isn't actually correct there. But I will cut you slack because I understand context and what you meant.
This is the only part of the statement that matters. You agree. There is an extant system that we do conduct background checks through? Do you accept that premise? Or do you think that premise is a lie?
I think whats funny is you thinking that someone with a violent criminal background or history of dangerous mental illness is going to be stopped by a background check...
I can see it now... Crue runs a background check on the violent criminal who plans on murdering 20 school children...
"Sorry sir, but you can't buy this gun"..
Now.. do you really think the violent criminal or deranged madman is going to say "Gosh darn shucky geez and walk away?"
Wait a minute.. you probably DO think that..
Those of us that have common sense realize that a madman/criminal intent on destruction is going to bop Crue on the head or murder him and take what he wants and no background check is going to deter him one bit.
