Is the election slipping away from the GOP with nothing but fear and negativity coming from trump and vance?

The problem isn't that she's unknown. The problem is that she's become known for flip-flopping on important issues. That's a sign of weak leadership and, possibly, dishonesty.

(And to save you the keystrokes, no, I'm not saying this to argue that she's somehow worse than Trump.)
Flip-flopping on important issues? Like what? Fracking? I admire politicians who look at an issue with an open mind.
Issues change with time. I was against fracking when I first heard about it. But after I learned more about it, I realized what a good technology it was. And it allows us to extract more natural gas which has a much lower carbon footprint than oil and coal. I don't want a candidate who is unwilling to bend on his/her policies.

So what are all the important issues you've deemed that Kamala has flipped on?

I was asked this by a left-leaning poster, and my reply was that if we were to go with what Democrats thought, we could choose any candidate that made it to the Iowa Caucuses in 2020. Recall that when she ran last time, Kamla lacked enough support from her own party to even get her to the first contest.
So what. It ain't 2020

I will say Harris is doing a better job than I thought she would, but that’s still not saying very much. The question in the OP remains. Trump is a horrible candidate in almost every respect, yet the race remains a statistical dead heat in the battleground states.

Why?
So your expectation was what, that Biden would bow out, Harris get in and there would be a sudden epiphany within the electorate? Not a realistic expectation.

Harris has the momentum. There is little doubt about that. As long as she has the momentum and all Trump/Vance have is more absurd and scarier rhetorical shit, they are not going to take the momentum back. That should be enough. I would take the Harris/Walz position in this election over Trump/Vance every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

The only advantages Trump/Vance has are:
- states run by R's that will try to use unsavory if not flat illegal tactics to swing their state Donnies way
- the EC

1) As for the EC, Harris will have to gain enough of a voting advantage over Trump to overwhelm the EC.

2) As for corruption and unscrupulous at the state level and the laughable condition of SC, no telling how that will pan out.

Success for Harris as to item 1 above may solve both issues at the same time.

I am less concerned about the gender split that MSM is obsessed with these days. White men particularly are miffed that the age old "strong back, weak mind" advantage they have relied upon is not as compelling as it once was. THAT is not much of a practical argument for them to be making.

The volume of change at this stage in her career suggests it not the product of an open mind but rather a desire to present herself as someone she's not.

A desire to present herself as someone she's not? Why in the world would she want to present herself as someone she's not? I disagree with your opinion because it makes no sense.

You failed to answer my question so I'll ask it again:

So what are all the important issues you've deemed that Kamala has flipped on?
If you refuse to answer again, I'll assume there are none.
