I present you the 10 pillars of communism, as outlined by Karl Marx himself in The Communist Manifesto. As you can see, these are pretty much the talking points of the Democratic Party in the United States today.
1. Abolition of private property in land and application of all rents of land to public purpose.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the state.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.
10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
This list could have come right out of President Obama's state of the union speech. What do you think, is the modern Democratic Party very closely aligned with the core beliefs of communism or what?

Uhhh, no, not really. In fact not at all.
None of that is true of Democrats n this country.
Your understanding of communism and/or democrats is a few ducks short of a flock.Let's see. If something waddles like a duck, likes to hang out in lakes with other ducks, quacks like a duck, has a duck bill, has a big sign around its neck that says "HI I'M A ****ING DUCK," what do you call that?
Oh yeah, in America we're not allowed to call it a duck. Must be a goose.

This is more of that empty chair stuff. Conservatives don't argue against what liberals actually do. They argue against the boogeyman in their heads. They argue against the imaginary person in the empty chair. They fill it with whatever they don't like and convince themselves that those are the things that their political opponents actually do. And we wonder why our political discourse is so absurd and our process so rabidly partisan...

So are you denying that the democratic party is pushing us closer and closer to the 10 pillars of communism as outlined in the OP? Cause it sure seems like they are to me. Sometimes they take baby steps in that direction. Other times it's big leaps. But it's always the same direction...
