Politics is an unusual game, and the when it comes to politics, people have very short memories. Look at how the country looked at Trump just 4 short years ago after his failed insurrection.

I think the gig fell to Harris because she is the VP and Biden strongly endorsed her.

There's an interesting political karma at wok here. A black woman in a position to defeat Trump. a women whose rise to power war pretty unremarkable, but provides such a stark contrast to her opponent, a dystopian old man who suddenly finds his schtick has worn thin.

We see Trump's platform. We know how corrupt he is. I would vote for anyone to stop him.

I was for Jeffries, but I'm for Harris. I don't see the problem because my primary votes never was chosen as a candidate and I voted in the general anyway.

I call her black because her family was red lined, she got bussed to white schools, went to black college and is part of a national black sorority. Seems like a no brainer.

Voting against a twice impeached felonious insurrectionist who is liable for sexual abuse and fraud doesn't seem crazy. Voting for him does.

Ironically, I think the fact that this corrupt and twisted man was ever president and could be considered again for the presidency has made it possible for just about anyone to be elected, even a black woman. He has really paved the way.

Yep, but that still doesn't explain how one goes from thinking a person is "America's Hitler" and a "moral catastrophe" to another's running mate unless Vance is either a poor judge of character or an opportunist. One thing is to disagree with someone on policy and then later run with that person, and another to think so lowly of someone in pretty stark terms and then run with them.

The convention is where the final decision is made. It was possible that delegates didn't agree on the first round and at that point the delegates would have voted as they saw fit. The deadline is the convention and it hasn't happened yet. Meaning, right now, Harris is the presumptive candidate.

I know what you can do. Explain how there's no consensus now, today.

Is there a consensus on the Dem pick being Harris? Yes or why not.

I have, and it's not very convincing no matter which way you cut it. What is far more plausible is he made a political calculation back when he ran for senate and made the Faustian deal much of the GOP did with Trump.

There were answers, but not convincing ones and mainly because Vance's original comments were not policy in nature, they questioned Trump's character and integrity so Vance was either a poor judge of character when he originally made them, or a poor judge of character now.

Did you really need to (attempt to) post a Wikipedia table to demonstrate that a person that withdrew from the Presidential Election three months prior to the CA Primary didn't receive any votes there?

Couldn't you just have said that she had dropped out of the race? Or that she wasn't on the CA Primary ballot?

I mean, how many votes were you really expecting to be cast for someone not appearing on the ballot?


And why leave a table with broken formatting in your post? Why leave in something unreadable and tell others to read it?
