The states which rely the most on federal tax dollars for education and medicaid are red states. Trump ran on slashing medicaid funding and getting rid of the department of education.

- Pledged to pardon the January 6th rioters.
- Found liable for sexual assault, sexual abuse, defamation of character, and causing injuries to E. Jean Carroll
- Found liable for over a billion dollars for tax and property fraud.
- Found guilty of 34 felonies for committing financial fraud.
- Went on national television and slandered Haitian Immigrants.
- Trump administration saw a decrease in manufacturing jobs, rise in trade deficits, and lost a trade war with China. While under Biden, manufacturing jobs went UP. GDP was higher under Biden than under Trump.
- Pledged to appoint a life-long anti-vaxxer and conspiracy-theorist as his HHS. This person has no medical or scientific education.

Lets also look at the fact that our country is obsessed with transgender people. This despite the fact they are about 0.5% of the U.S population. They are not sexually assaulting or peeping on people in the bathrooms or locker rooms. None of the states that have tried to ban transgender females from women's sports can produce a single example of a transgender female which dominated a single sport within their state. The President of the NCAA testified there are about 500k student-athletes in America, and less than 10 of them are transgender.

My question to you guys is, is it fair to question the intelligence of the American people? We certainly don't do our homework and allow terrible candidates (I am also referring to Hilary Clinton) to win over the population.

First of all; Any people should ask themselves the question: Are we an intelligent people?

Now as to questioning the American people's intelligence because they voted for Trump. I would like to think it is a stupid thing to do. And quite frankly, it is. But it is not that simple. What Trump is doing, has been in de making for years. It is not just education in the sense of 1+1=2 and the whole A. B, C drama. It also includes social lessons.

By saving money on education and allowing states to determine what their kids should be taught and should not be taught, very slowly an environment has been created that favours Trump. He is simply using the lowering of social standards to his advantage. So you also learned that 1 plus 1 is 2. Yippy yea. But now you are also learning that rainbows are ugly. What am I saying. Black is ugly too. Everything should be white, than it is good. Oh and religions are also wrong. Well, if it is not my own religion of course. And this is how people are slowly shaped into thinking in a certain direction.

The System

The system allows for all this. Yes you have a democracy. So what. Many countries have a democracy. But you have Trump. did 1939-1945 not teach us anything? Hitler got democratically elected, yet we allow it to happen all over again... So be proud of your constitution. Be proud of your country. Be proud of your democracy. But please tweak the system, because this aint working so well.

You do not have any security checks in place for a presidential candidate. They do not even have to present a CV. If you want what is arguably the most important job in the world, you do not need a CV. Let that sink in for a minute. You just need a lot of people to like you. And he has virtually unlimited powers to do what he want. Does that still sound like democracy to you.

So yes, please fix your education system, but while your at it, take a look at Washington as well. There is a few procedures and papers that are in dire need of updates.

From what I can tell, the problem is not resolved by increasing intelligence.

The issue is when humans decide to use their intelligence.

At some point in the distant past of our non-human ancestors, a way of doing things was established that limited problem solving thinking to issues where the result of the thinking could actually make a difference in our lives.

Why bother with lots of effort for a decision which has little impact?

It seems a relatively efficient model for many situations.

This phenomenon is thought to be responsible for the way most of us choose our religion and our political parties.
We make these sorts of decisions based on the factors which have the greatest chance to impact us.
Usually, we go along with the beliefs of our family and friends because the reactions of our family and friends definitely does have an impact on us.
