I have noticed several people on TV today wearing double masks, one over another.

Seems prudent given the circumstances.

What do you think?

A giant condom would be safer.

At this point I'd be willing to wear John Goodman's whitey tighties around my head if it meant bringing an end to this damn thing 1 second sooner.

I think I am gonna from now on. It seems prudent considering the uptick and the new strain.

If I was in a crowd of a bunch of Anti-American idiots like the Trump mob who are afraid to put on masks, then I'd wear triple masks. That will never be needed in my case, won't be around angry, unpatriotic, ignorant racists. MAWA

For sure that would suffocate a person, what with all the breathing and other medical problems created by just one layer of fabric over the mouth and nose.

Oh, your post is one of "those" posts.

Unless you properly use disinfect and dispose of the masks it makes very little difference. Even then it is statistically mildly effective and guarantees nothing. With airborne virus masks dont help all that much. This is proven fact. It only minimally reduces your chances. The lengths one needs to go to, to dramatically decrease the probability of getting a contagious airborne virus is quite significant, in military terms you would need to be MOPP 4 minimum protocols. That aint easy or cheap. The most effective thing one can do without significant effort is to minimize contact with people and areas with high traffic, like going to Walmart or a grocery store.

It's hard enough to breathe through one mask. As it is, half the breath goes around the sides and over the top. Add another one, and you might be defeating the purpose of wearing one at all.

I think I saw a bunch of 'true patriots' at the capitol yesterday not wearing masks.

the mask will protect others from you more than you from others. when i go into stores, i wear a mask, lab goggles with side shields, and nitrile gloves. i figure that's about the best that i can do.

I'd say we'd do better to get people to just wear the single one consistently.

I was using one bandana. I tried double bandanas but it was a pain. I use a medical type mask.

I heard on the radio that my area is the #1 worst, ~0% hospital capacity. I called in sick to my seasonal job where I stayed outdoors and could minimize interactions. Then I decided to quit, for a few reasons, but mainly because I didn't want to risk an accident during the~45-minute each way commute.

My girlfriend got one vaccine shot. She's buying and dropping off groceries for me. I'm hunkering down till the Covid coast is clear. I'm on an "I'll get it when I get the chance" list with my health clinic.

I just heard a professional say they think we'll be in a much better situation, this summer.

I am privileged!
