Is it time to let Jan 6 go?

So you are fine with attempted coups because police have guns? Your argument is not only stupid, but very unpatriotic.

In case you have not noticed; no one is taking your crap argument serious. We all know what Trump and the Republicans did and are still trying to do. You lost, are losing and welp we cannot just pretend that reality never existed.

You need to admit that you supported a coup.
I am not fine with it. It is that there is so little dirt on words like "Fight like hell" you can't really prosecute Trump for it. It's a waste of time

We can never forget 1/6/21. It was the worst disaster ever to befal this nation. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 pale in comparison to what happened on 1/6 and until Trump and every one of his supporters are banished from land we can never be free. By all rights we should mandate that the goverrnment kill the Trump supporters and put their heads on pikes in all city squares as a reminder to the traitors that we will never stand for political protest again!
according to white house press secretary it was the worst offense against this nation since the civil war! It WAS in fact, the civil war 2! all in one day, by just around 1000 people!

I support your mandate.

Is it time to let Jan 6 go? The fact is the police were able to kill 1 rioter, Sicknick died yes, but due to conditions he had already. The Capitol police had rifles and pistols and most of the rioters had no guns at all. It's not like they couldn't have fired on them if any lawmakers were actually threatened.

Whatever Trump was trying to do, is it severe enough to land him in jail?

Yes, and that is why we shouldn't let it go until he and his co-conspirators are in jail.

He conspired to disrupt a public proceeding, which just happened to be proceeding that transfers political power from one administration to the next. There's a mountain of public proof shown during the January 6th committee hearings proving that he and others conspired to interfere with the formal certification of 2020 election results. That is a crime. That is just one of many he likely committed, and fortunately, there are people who insist that justice be done.

You don't just "Get over" the capital building being stormed and all the politicians having to be evacuated for their safety.
QAnon Shaman is in prison, Babbit is dead, multiple arrested. How is it not over?

Who is in this video, what is his political party affiliation, what is he doing at the end of the video, and why is he doing it @Andyh2299?

Questions dodged in 3....2....1....

Josh Hawley from Missouri a fake republican

Seriously?
If attacking democracy is not considered severe then you dont have democracy

We must never forget what these traitors tried on Jan 6th

Is it time to let Jan 6 go?
The Dems will let it go when it suits their purpose.

Heck! There may come a day when Dems ask: "What happened on January 6?" or "Donald who???!!!"

They literally cant put the brakes on this.

According to the Russiagate narrative Trump is the Manchurian Candidate intentionally trying to destroy the country. Every second hes walking around influencing American politics is a signal of unbelievable weakness towards true believers. Imagine just letting someone like that run again and having no response to it other than "Go get out the Vote!" Theres no off switch, theyve tried by pushing the narrative that hes finished and disgraced but hes still the top contender for the Republicans in 24, Which is strange considering the official narrative is the reason all those districts that voted straight R tickets just happened to vote against Trump as President is Republicans were sick of him. Im still trying to fit that round peg through the square hole of him being the only R Candidate for 24 with any real support.

So either they let Putins spy run for the whitehouse again to intentionally destroy the country, again or they actually kneecap him on something. They also really obviously dont want to actually deal with the consequences of topping off the 2020 election with an election where the leading opposition candidate is arrested and forcibly prevented from running for office. Theyre already making the actual lesson of the 2020 riots crystal clear just by cartoonishly over-prosecuting everyone on the opposition side that participated in a riot while prosecuting anyone who defended themselves during their riots.

So right now theyre just dragging this out as long as possible and hoping that DeSantis pulls a miracle and gives them an out. Otherwise they just have to pick which side of the country they want to hate them more and theyre going to pick the opposition. But its a lose-lose either way because at the end of the day the point of Elections has always been to manage the Electorate. Faith in Democracy is a crucial pressure release for society and once a critical mass of people, regardless of politics, decide that Elections dont matter the ability of the govt to manage that pressure is gone.

If Trump runs theres no way they cant channel the outrage that generates into an election because The Manchurian Candidate running for office makes the whole process a Joke. Its going to be people they dont have on a leash like in 2020 doing everything in their power to save themselves from what theyve been told for 6 years straight is an existential threat.

During the 2020 DC riots, the "Bunker Baby" incident where the angry mob that went around burning Churches tried to breach the white house and put a secret service agent in the hospital. What would have happened if they had gotten past security and to Trump?

This sounds like a poorly informed view which did not watch the hearings nor appreciate the gravity of what happened, how unprecedented it is, and how much of a warning it is to our nation.

We are not headed in a good direction with all this right wing extremism and government hatred.

We have to have a government and like it or not we've got one. We need to take care of it, not treat it like it is some kind of enemy.

Reagan did is a great disservice when he said government was the problem.

No. That was so dumb. Government is us. We are the problem. Government is a reflection of us. We created our own government. It is a product of us. If it has gone awry (it is legally corrupt) then the responsibility falls upon us to fix it.

Hating it, mocking it, blaming it, attacking it will not solve the problem.

We have to unite against the big money that corrupts our government. We have to make corruption illegal and return our government to serving we the people instead of they the rich.

We are never letting go of January 6th. It is a part of us now. Just as much as Pearl Harbor and 911. A day of infamy.

You can start your research by looking into finding out who is Jeffrey Clark, and why Trump wanted to appoint him as head of the DOJ after Barr.

Hell yes. A once in 235-year event in America and republicans want to let it go. We had a president who abused his power (illegally) to stay in office and you think we should let it go. No way, Jose.

When Trump and his henchmen are held accountable, we'll happily let it go. Donald Trump and his small percentage of loyal supporters still pose a danger to our democracy. Hopefully when these supporters see actual accountability for the ring leaders, we'll begin to get normalized.

Until then, we remain vigilant and will never forget.

In the 50s Puerto Rican nationalists shot like 5 congressmen while congress was in session. In the 70s a black nationalist group took over congress at gunpoint and executed a page. Weve had 3 assassination attempts on Presidential candidates since the 60s. The 1970s remain the decade with the most bomb attacks on record, thousands a year, and almost all of them were political motivated.

How is it illegal to contest the results of an election?
