Is it just me......????

I say first, few Americans are paying attention to the Israeli/Hamas war. About the only time I hear or see anything dealing with it is here on DP. I view the on goings over there as the Israeli/Hamas war. A war Hamas started by attacking Israel and taking hostages, killing civilians, not military in their attack. That Hamas started the war, hence they’re the aggressors, the bad guys. Hamas is also officially recognized as a terrorist organization, so it’s Israel against the terrorists.

Hamas in my opinion is using the deaths of their own civilians to gain worldwide recognition as a nation. That was their goal when they started this thing. Hamas is willing to sacrifice as many civilians as needed to obtain their political goal of being recognized by the world as an official state. They have said this several times. It seems that Hamas which will lose the war militarily, will win it politically. Canada, the UK, France are now all set to recognize Gaza as a nation. Being the aggressor, starting a war, being willing to sacrifice however may thousands, tens of thousands of their own people in a war they knew they couldn’t win, will end up, at least political being a winner with their own Hamas run state or nation.

For me Semitism, anti-Semitism has nothing to do with this or how I view that war. It’s simply a war of Israel against Hamas, the terrorist organization, the aggressors who attacked Israel starting this war.
No, we are recognising Palestine as a nation, not just the Gaza strip. Would you have labelled the Jews of the Warsaw ghetto in WW2 as terrorists, because they were also fighting to free their country from a belligerent occupier? How about South Africa's ANC, labelled a terrorist organisation because it was fighting a brutal apartheid regime (enthusiastically supported by Israel, by the way) ?
In any event it is the height of hypocrisy for an American to label any resistance group as terrorists when you openly supported, financed and armed terrorists yourselves. Iran-Contra ringing any bells?
And by the way the conflict as we recognise it, today, began with Jewish terrorists as early as 1929, and in 1948 forcibly expelling 700,000 Arabs from their land and homes, and torching over 50 of their villages. How would you respond to that, with a welcoming smile and flowers?

What I can’t understand is why folks continue to support an official, almost worldwide, recognized terrorist organization like Hamas. A group more than willing to have their people killed to gain a political victory. You, like most who support Hamas have in my opinion fallen for their tactics of losing a war and the deaths of thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of their own people to gain a political victory. Recognize a Hamas run state if that is what you want, you might as well recognize an ISIS run state while you’re at it along with an al Qaeda run nation.

Who supports Hamas? We support the Palestinian people as a whole, not Hamas. Conflating the two is as laughably simplistic as being labelled anti-Semitic for criticising Israel's regime just because it happens to be Jewish. Did you support Reagan when he was financing and supporting the Contra? How about Pol Pot and his genocide in Cambodia-again supported by America? I'd be very circumspect when it comes to condemning terrorist organisations when America has openly supported and armed them herself, in the name of geo-political expediency and US hegemony.

Because the Palestinian people support Hamas,

Let me know when the Palestinian people send Hamas packing.

You are irrelevant.
I just provided evidence (#47, above), that support for Hamas is dwindling, or did you not bother to read the links? I'm "irrelevant"? What does that make you?

Did I support Reagan and the Contras, sure I did, but I was in the army then with the overall goal fighting communism. To deny the communist a foothold in central America. As for Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge, I did what I could to fight them, I was stationed in southeast Asia from 1967-1976. I supported through MEDTC the Lon Nol Government of Cambodia while also fighting not only the Khmer Rouge, KR, the Pathet Lao, PL, the North Vietnamese Army along with the VC at different points in my 10 years in southeast Asia.

I’ll tell you who did support Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, the democratic congress of the United States and then Jimmy Carter who supplied them after the Vietnamese invaded Cambodia putting a stop to the killing fields Helping the U.S. congress and Jimmy Carter in supporting the KR was the Thai military at our behest, training and giving logistical support to the KR from Thailand, providing the KR a safe haven to launch their attacks mostly on their own people from Thai soil.

The Killing Fields of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, we could have stopped that, we had the assets in Thailand at the time. We didn’t because the democratic controlled congress wouldn’t let us. Congress turned a blind eye to the killing fields; they didn’t care Pol Pot and the KR were in the process of killing 2-3 million Cambodians out of a country of 7 million. Setting up what Pol Pot called reeducation camps. The same as the PL in Laos and the North Vietnamese did in South Vietnam. Not a peep from Carter of the U.S. congress.

Hamas, the Khmer Rouge, what’s the difference? Pol Pot had the guts to do his own killing of his own people who he couldn’t indoctrinate. Hamas doesn’t have the guts to do that, they’d rather let someone else do it, kill their own people in the tens of thousands so Hamas, the terrorist organization will have and can rule over their own nation as recognized by pretty much everyone in the world. Hamas will succeed because of folks like you.

All I read here is defensiveness and your admission that you support terrorists. Congratulations.

Okay, I support the Contras, you support the Khmer Rouge and Hamas. Probably ISIS and AQ also

Yes there are, many in fact, and they all support what I have posted. If you wish to assert lack of context or confection, let's see your evidence.
I'm aware of it, but you're hardly the first person to be fooled by such propaganda nonsense.

That, Sir, is totally untrue and regrettably is so so tragically typical of the rubbish propaganda coming from Netanyahu and his pals.
It's not from "Netanyahu and his pals" it's from Jews who live in Australia and have to live through this wave of antisemitism.

Oh, so now we have a 'tragic accident' in which 20 Gazans perished after the State of Israel attacked a hospital. Among those killed were five Journalists. Did you know that over there, despite members of the Media being killed, noone has ever, has ever, has ever, been held accountable for the deaths?

Counting how long it takes for...."But Hamas were using the Hospital as a base."

Spreading fear... If Journalists are afraid, they may find out less stuff that shouldn´t be told.

Yep the usual Zionist dogma of labelling them anti-Semitic ain't working anymore.
It's the height of Irony when a country openly committing apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide against a significant proportion of its own population and neighbouring state, starts whining about anti-Semitism. That pathetic attempt at moral defense and blame-shifting got old real quick. Oh, and in case anyone conveniently forgot, Arabs are also a Semitic people.

Wrong, it cites Jews in Australia being surveyed by a Jewish group against antisemitism.
Yes. QED.

It allegedly cites allegedly Jews in allegedly Australia being allegedly surveyed by an allegedly Jewish group against allegedly antisemitism.

Sorry, I don't believe a word that comes out of Israel, such has been the level of bullshit from Netanyahu et al.
