Is cutting education a good idea???

LoL! You have stated we should overthrow the government. Not too surprising you would think there is no need for education. :sun

Think about it, will you? The Public hates public education. It's a strawman-target, forever sitting there waiting to be complained about, regardless of facts. No matter how well our kids do on tests or anything else, the Public, thanks to the media, constantly believes public education is failing. This is formally part of the history of American education -- constant public criticism and antagonism. When in dire economic straits, The Sheeple always slam-dunk public education, and start firing as many people employed by it as possible, with decided vengeance. So, I say kill it. Give the Public what it wants -- NO PUBLIC EDUCATION. Yeah........kill it. Put the responsibility on parents and guardians. Make them pay for it. Let them find out, first-hand, whether public education was ever a good idea and/or investment. Screw it. Besides, our culture is already so low, we have nothing to lose. America is 'on the ropes', bad.

If teachers are not needed it might catch your attention.
Every teacher in America has a paycheck every paycheck as taxes taken out to run the government.
Do the math, tax revenue has to come from somewhere you want higher federal taxes you want higher state taxes higher local taxes.???:peace

We don't have 'teachers' in America today. We have 'facilitators', aka: 'hard-working babysitters'. The System doesn't want 'teachers'. It wants facilitators who will keep kids busy, long enough to keep them from hurting each other or themselves, and then it wants them out the door. Parents don't want 'teachers', either. Parents want facilitators who won't tell their kids what to do, who won't 'get in their faces', but who will babysit them, while the parents are at work.

No education needed if the country is ready to throw in the towel................got it. :sun

So we can shut down the colleges now cause according to you no child makes it out of High School.
I find it strange that young people are still applying and graduating from a higher learning facility every year but this is due to the action of "BABYSITTERS" and "FACILITATORS".

I suppose that the younger generation just sits and waits listening to a bunch of "baysitters" till they turn 17 or 18 and then presto chango there are smart enough to apply to College?

Not all College students get in on a sports scholorship you know

Speaking of sports high school football and basketball I suppose the coaches are just babysitting as well?:peace

Nah, Dog, nah. I'm just sick of all the attacks on Public Education in America. It's a fact the public hates it, always has, always will, and uses it as a scapegoat. Accordingly, there's no pleasing the public on this. It's a lost cause to try to 'improve' Public Education, because The Sheeple will never be satisfied, and they will never even truly understand the issues. It's really a waste of air and cell-energy to think about it, much less talk about it, much less get upset over it. It's a lost cause.

I hear ya man but I think your public hatred is based on the wrong target.

Every organization from the FBI to the DEA to the HOMELAND SECURITY right down the line to public education is controled by the politicians of D.C..

They laid the groundwork , they made the changes.
You looking for a scapegoat start at the bottom of public education and follow the money to the top.

You do remember the bridge to nowhere that started in Congress.
You remember the bailouts that started in Congress
Public Education may need some work but the Congresmen that are now asking for more cuts from educations are the same Congressmen that help public education to get where it is today.

There is no Republicans, no Democrats, no Independents saying well that was a mistake ; just a bunch of people covering their ass and their jobs and money money, money:peace

I'm for Public Education. I definitely against public abuses of Public Education, all of which is based on ignorance and/or the vilest partisan politics.

Public education should be investigated from the top down, not the bottom up.

In my humble opinion the bottom has less money to cut than the top.

The top that's where the money is.

Average U.S, military at the bottom salary... $38,000 a year

Average Congressman at the bottom salary... $186,000 a year

If I am wrong proove it.:peace

Heavens no.
Remember, education is why most countries with few or no resources, with small land, with a small population succeeds. South Korea is a perfect example. It has no natural resources, aside from low-grade timber and coal. It has to import virtually ALL of its natural resources, from oil (it is one of the top 10 net importers of oil) to gas, from steel to concrete. Yet the government solved this problem by placing importance on education in the 80s and 90s, so we have a very successful economy in SK, from a war-torn, impoverished country that (this is a fact) received aid from African countries, to a top 15 country with a strong economy and society.
Not only SK, but Switzerland, Sweden and such countries succeeded magnificantly with education

I agree with you, after all intelligence solves problems not money.

Where do you get intelligence ?
From education.

After the money from cutting education is long gone, the intelligence anyone can have from education remains.:peace
