Is Bill Barr moonlighting on Flynn's defense team against DOJ prosecutors?

The DOJ falls under Bill Barr. The DOJ prosecuted Michael Flynn, Flynn Pleaded guilty.

Then Flynn appealed. Barr begins an effort to unravel his own DOJ case

Attorney General William Barr asked the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Jeffrey Jensen, to look into Flynn's FBI interview, the people familiar with the inquiry said. The inquiry began within the past month, they said.

Around that same time, federal prosecutors on the Flynn case came under pressure from senior Justice Department officials to recommend a lighter sentence for him than they had proposed, according to people familiar with the matter.

A third person familiar with the inquiry said Jensen is broadly reviewing the Flynn case.

Asked about the inquiry into Flynn's FBI interview, a spokesperson for Jensen said, "I can't answer those questions" and directed queries to the Justice Department.

A spokesperson for the Justice Department declined to comment.

One of the people familiar with the inquiry described it as "very sensitive."

The inquiry comes amid growing criticism of Barr's efforts to take a heavier role in matters within the Justice Department that are of personal interest to the president, including the Flynn case and the sentencing of Trump associate Roger Stone, who was convicted of witness tampering and lying to Congress.

The inquiry also coincides with recent moves by Trump to vindicate his allies and exact revenge on his perceived enemies, including individuals who were involved with former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation or testified in the House Democrats' impeachment probe.

I think Trump has compromising pictures of Barr with some hooker in Miami or something. That's the only thing that explains Barr's loyalty to Trump.

Barr is blatantly corrupt. No surprise. These are the types of people that Trump has always had around him, and who he eventually ruins.

I'm truly amazed, bewildered and discouraged at the amount of honorable civil servants Trump can and has taken down, along with institutions corrupted.

I am concerned that the reasonable faction of our government, is powerless to Trump's corruption and scorched earth reign

I don't think the founders ever envisioned the total corruption of a party.

The next time Barr testifies to Congress, I want Democrats to call him Mr. Cohn.

Barr had the audacity when interviewed today that, the reason he came back to the DOJ as AG, was to remove politics from the justice system. Unbelievable!

The Founders did not want parties because they feared a Tyrant like Trump.

Oh my god...really??? Yeah...you go with that. Baaaahhaaaaaa

The issue is simple: that we put our faith in voters and elections. We give the president the power, with some influence from the Senate, to have the government he wants, which if he wants, includes removing the honest and appointing the corrupt. When the Senate is corrupt also, that removes the check.

We don't have a system that says 'let's assume the president and Senate are corrupt and give power to limit them to civil servants'. We assume the election chooses the leader we want, and we let them rule, and with fewer limits all the time. When 40% of the country are effectively a dysfunctional cult and enough to elect the government, we get the disaster we have. November is pretty damned important.

Thank GOODNESS we took advantage of 2018 to put Democrats in control of the House.

That's given us some say from impeachment to laws to budgets, such as the Coronavirus response. A lot of good has happened and bad prevented because Democrats have the House.

We are experiencing the perfect bad storm.
A corrupt President, A corrupt AG, A corrupt Senate leader that directs he sheep to protect Trump. Republican Justice Roberts downright goofy and useless at the Impeachment trial. White house and cabinet, a room full of lackeys

I found it ironic when Roberts admonished everyone to remember where they were during the impeachment proceedings. I hope he realized this after he said it, and I wonder how it felt to be so powerless, and meaningless in such a situation. A disgrace that will live in infamy.
