For me Obama is scared. Honestly. He doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings esp his own party. He doesn't want to piss of the middle east, china or any other country that might have an influence. He doesnt want to become the WAR president so the middle east is thin ice with him, he's already getting reamed about Obamacare, the Nov elections shook him up. He isnt going to be talking to the American people unless he absolutely has too. There is way too much PC nowadays and thats one of Obama's problems. He doesnt want to look like a bad guy and when it started looking like he was heading to the middle..he zipped his lips.
:ssst:
I think there is definitely something about him that makes him afraid to step on people's toes.

He is the type who wants to build a consensus I think. Unfortunately, with today's divisive politics and everyone going my way or the highway, its the wrong attitude to take.
Ruth Marcus - Obama's 'Where's Waldo?' presidency
The above washington post article summarizes a lot of the issues I have with President Obama, namely that many times he's been passive and indecisive rather than the take-charge, force-the-issue commander-in-chief that I wanted. Please read the article and chime in with your thoughts.
no, we've seen him fully willing to 'step on toes'; whether it's calling police officers stupid, republicans the enemy, or so forth.
what he's less willing to do is firmly articulate and then take a stand on a major issue in the face of serious risk. the President prefers to vote "present" on the great questions of the day.
