You cannot understand the essential "humanness" of everyone in the world until you try communicating with someone who doesn't know your language at all, and you still succeed in being understood. The sense of brotherhood is indescribably awesome.
I think it it clear that a lot of ignorant people confuse pride with arrogance. I am proud that our form of Government has out lasted any other form ever, and is still working in spite of Liberals and Obama who don't seem to want it to continue to work for We the People.
Obama is backing the Wall Street idiots want a Marxist/Socialist government and that has never worked and is doomed to collapse as it has every time
Basic news reporting and current events tells me that Europe is a place that I would never want to visit. It's like DisneyLand for Socialists and Lefties. That in and of itself is enough to make it a place that I have less than no interest in ever seeing or setting foot in. The same with Canada.
It's close enough. Especially considering the absolute lack of interest most European countries seem to place on their Medieval history. Were you aware that the Battle of Stamford Bridge, one of the most important battles in English history is marked by a 2' x 18" faded wooden sign, buried in the brush on the side of a dirt trail and NOTHING MORE? Here in the US, it would be a National Landmark, protected by the US Parks Service. There it's an absolute afterthought and nothing more.
well when you have as much history as Europe does its pretty hard to mark everything which is kind of the beauty of some places in Europe. In the US you have civil war battle grounds and grave yards left to rot so spare me that BS please and its also very hard to compare considering my old house was older than the USA as a state.
As for the political side of Europe, do you think people run around wearing red arm bands and shouting about Stalin in the street? You need to lay off the fox news buddy its been messing with your head! Europe like America is full of good and bad people, hardworking and lazy people etc. The bars are amazing and the beer is better. To shelter your life based on your extreme political views is beyond me, whatever floats your boat I guess.
also tigger this is a little more than a faded sign....

oh I forgot America was the only country fighting in World War Two and the Korean War...yawn
U.S. Arrogance Claims the Japanese Prime Minister
"U.S. arrogance has claimed a high-profile victim: the prime minister of Japan.
Yukio Hatoyama has had to tender his resignation after he was caught in a bind between the intransigence of the Obama Administration and the wishes of his own people. Many Japanese have become fed up with a huge U.S. base on the island of Okinawa and want it moved off.
“Nearly 100,000 people staged a protest [in April] on the southern island, demanding that the base be removed,” reports the BBC.
Hell no, we won’t go, replied the Obama Administration, publicly humiliating a longstanding Asian ally and forcing Hatoyama to tearfully exit days after he issued a heartfelt public apology to Okinawans.
The United States refuses to leave Okinawa because it’s a key link in an astonishing chain of 700-plus bases the U.S. possesses in 130 countries around the world. Chalmers Johnson, one of the leading American scholars on this issue, recently published a concise account of the history of Okinawa in the Los Angeles Times. He underlined that the United States occupied Okinawa outright till 1972 and even after that has had sovereignty over the bases and the island’s airspace.
Japanese resentment at the Americans has festered due to a number of reasons."
And in the United States that site would like like the Gettysburg National Battlefield.
what relevance does that sort of anti American drivel have. We were major reason why the Japanese were defeated and a major reason why the Axis fell. and unlike the Russians, we weren't in cahoots with the Nazis to start with
let us not forget America only entered the war because she was attacked. I just feel its a little disrespectful to the rest of the allies to claim that America were the overiding factor in winning the war considering countries like Russia's losses. You need to pick up a history book because your WW2 knowledge is more limited than Burger Kings salad bar
:applaud:applaud:lamo:lamo
This is why some people question the American people.....

Oh Please.. Without US involvement, who would have been dropping A-bombs on all of us? That is right, Mr. Hitler himself. Who supplied Stalin? Without the US, just like in WW1, they would not have defeated Germany.
lol but we have had many gettysburg moments and that battle was nearly 1000 years ago, time moves on other battles and historical moments become important, America is still very young dont forget that.
As for the points about Europe its pretty clear we will never agree on that as you seem to have a deep hatred for socalism ( even though many european governments have voted in conservative governments). European countries like England are not socalist states they just have socialist aspects of their government similar to the US. Medicare, Social security, the GI bill etc are all example of socalism.
End of the day if you dont want to visit any countries outside the US thats your choice but I do feel its pretty sad that you can't respect the fact that its a big planet and that not everyone is going to agree with your particular point of view, to accuse people of being criminals for accepting socalism is a little extreme
That battle changed the shape of English history. Without the English victory at Stamford Bridge, the battle of Hastings probably doesn't happen. Instead, Duke William ends up meeting Harald Bluetooth's army somewhere else in England (possibly London), and God alone knows what ends up happening to the country. There's a reasonable chance that it may have never again become a Saxon kingdom. America is still young. You are correct about that. We remain that way because we remember what has happened to us in the past. We preserve places like Minuteman National Park, Gettysburg, and the USS Arizona Memorial. We also preserve places like Old Sturbridge Village, Colonial Williamsburg, Edison's laboratory facility, and many other locales so that our children can see what this country was like. Those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it.
You are correct that I have a deep rooted hatred for everything Socialist (including [but not limited to] Medicare and Social Security) whether it's on this side of the ocean or the other. A goverment is only as "Conservative" as the actions it takes and the policies it introduces or fails to repeal. There is no more a Conservative government anywhere in Europe than there has been here in the United States since prior to the US Civil War.
I respect their right to do whatever they want on their own soil. I respect it by avoiding having anything to do with them. I AM that rude, unpleasant, and crabby American that Europeans hate seeing in their countries. I only speak English. I have no real taste for a wide variety of foreign foods. I have less than no interest in their culture. So I stay home, where I belong. Now if I could just get them to evoke the same courtesy, we'd probably all be a lot happier.
at least your honest I guess
Of course we're arrogant - you have to be arrogant to be the best.
Oh yes i forgot the commies are coming for the white house! You are one of the misinformed.
Uhhhh so they hate us because we have a "better gov" than them?People in a number of Countries are proud of their Nations there are just fewer of them and even more people envy our Nation for our form of Government and life style and living standard.
Of course.... :roll:If you Socialists/Marxists/Communists don't like it tough stuff we will never change into a form of Government that always fails.
Yea im done here no point to go on when one has a mindset of this... :dohIt is proof that some people have a serious lack of mental acuity when they proudly state they are in favor of systems that can never be successful.
They want others to produce so they can be lazy good for nothings who live off the hard work of good people.
