WASHINGTON (AP) -- The IRS said Friday that Lois Lerner's computer hard drive was destroyed three years ago, ending any chance of retrieving her lost emails.
In court papers, the IRS said the hard drive was destroyed after two sets of trained technicians tried to retrieve the data. The tax agency said it was standard procedure to destroy old data storage equipment that may have contained confidential taxpayer information.
Gotta love it.
Legacy building with every BS excuse and every instance of obstruction.
Looking back on this Administration will be cringe worthy for any American not blinded by partisan ideology.
Incompetence compounded with corruption on a unprecedented scale.
Hope and Change.
Oh but didn't you hear, this is the most transparent admin ever.
News from The Associated Press
Can you just imagine the media uproar if this happened when Bush was in office?
Virtual crickets, still, on this whole rotten thing.
This is just more convincing that some seriously damning evidence was on that hard drive that went far beyond Little Lois.
Wouldn't those emails possibly be on other IRS people's hard drives, too? Are those destroyed as well?
I bet the hard drive was destroyed before it crashed...LOL!
Yup, and then magically the crash rebounded a bunch of miles until it took out just their spool backups at their email provider. From their it somehow erased all the tape backups and hard backups. Wow busy.
And wouldn't ya know it, right about that time the IRS cancelled the contract with their backup server.

destroying those defective hard drives to prevent access to privileged information does not seem unreasonable if that was the agency policy when the hard drive was destructed. determining whether that was actually the IRS policy/practice at that time would seem to be a reasonable question to ask and ensure is answered. maybe issa will actually do something, and ask that question
and isn't the interest primarily in lerner's communication to white house staff
why can the white house servers not be queried to identify/supply the sought after emails initiated by and responded to learner?
another question issa should insist is answered
why does he not make such inquiries? is he afraid the answers will end the fabricated 'scandal' and prevent him from getting and more headline coverage?
show us the exact quote/cite of that admission. i want to read that for myselfThe IRS ADMITTED that it targeted Conservatives.
show us that citeThen they blamed rogue agents in Cincinnati who then testified under Oath that their orders came from Washington.
because of defective hard drive. show us it was anything elseThen, the IRS destroyed evidence.
trying to get issa to actually ask some useful questions. was the practice of destroying defective hard drives the IRS policy when that happened to learner's? why can learner's emails to and from the white house not be accessed via the white house servers? you know, question s that will prompt answers to the question instead of issa headlines about his pointless stuntsSo what are you talking about ?
