The old adage of ignore it at your own peril comes into play. "Even if you don’t accept the science, you’ll need to deal with the consequences."

Hey, you can say there is no bee in your bonnet all you want, but that sting gonna hurt nonetheless.

...whether you believe the causes of climate change are anthropogenic or natural matters less each year. For Californians, the effects of increasingly destructive wildfires and the inconvenient strategies for preventing them are the same irrespective of belief. Over time, the relevance of climate change denial will diminish while the need for mitigation and adaptation intensifies.

Don't forget. What starts in Cali eventually sweeps over the country. Yes, you can deny that too...at your own peril.

Maybe the California legislature can implement new standards that help prevent such wildfires, and not enable them?

The truly sad situation is that they are ignoring all the evidence which the models have predicted very accurately to date. As the warming continues, year-after-year, FOX News, the Fossil Fuel industry, and their incredibly obstinate adherents crank up the rhetoric even more. Climate change is in it's early years. Scientific American is right on! At some point, you would think that the mallet would conk them over the head.

Most of these deniers will be dead when their grandchildren curse them for being so damned selfish. Hard to say if that is good or bad though. I sort of prefer they live long enough to have their ignorance shoved up their ass.

You know don't you that reading actual peer reviewed papers, and understanding the weasel words they use, can damage your ignorance. Reading such agenda driven articles by lying pundits reinforces your ignorance.

Yes, we should all listen to you, with ZERO links, no backup, and fossil fuel industry rhetoric. Scientific American - what do they know?

I have provided links and quotes several times in the past. I don't keep looking for the same information after I furnish it the first time. i just use my own words. You guys very rarely ever supply peer reviewed paper links and quotes. I'd hay it's something like that magic 97% number that you furnish links to pundits. Not the actual scientific works.

Apparently the uneducated repair technician believes his opinions to be so important that everyone should spend all their time searching through his ~32,000 posts looking for some link he supposedly posted years ago. The truth is, he rarely provides any sources to support his claims. That's because most of his claims are pseudoscience nonsense he picked up from crank blogs. :3oops:

Facts on the ground, as in actual results coming to fruition today which were predicted decades earlier, are proving your unsubstantiated assertions wrong. Read the link in the op.

I cannot recall who said it, but someone in this sub once claimed to not read links because they had cookies or something like that. It was odd, to say the least.

Q and 3G are the loud non-readers.

Having an extremely loose relationship with reality and facts and projecting their own flaws on to others seems to be a regular thing with fake "skeptics" aka Climate Truthers aka climate science deniers.

I would definitely argue that climate change denial is a conspiracy theory of epic proportions. Literally thousands of scientists across a myriad of disciplines would have to be in on the scam. Add to that the hundreds of universities in a dozen different countries who would have to somehow coordinate their stories. It's not like there is a Fox News monolith spitting out talking points on this, although some would say NOAA was deep state operating nefariously underground :)

The only ones who mention conspiracy are on your side.

You and your allies are the only ones who mention conspiracy.

Nah, what we point out are facts: Climate Change denial is funded by Big Oil, just like Cancer/Lung Disease Denial was pushed by Big Tobacco.

Yes, you belong in the CT forum. Not matters of science.

Says the uneducated repair technician who denies science, spouts nonsense pseudoscience he picked up from crank blogs, and believes in a huge conspiracy of corrupt/incompetent scientists who all know and understand far less about climate science (or any field of science) than he does.

There should be a subsection of the Conspiracy Theory forum for pathological science deniers with narcissistic delusions of grandeur.

Or maybe those who choose not just to be sheeple and question the scriptures

Funny how that's exactly the same thing all the scientifically illiterate conspiracy nutters say. Like they all mindlessly pray and chant in unison.

Its ironic indeed that you bring up praying and chanting in unison given you wage a holy war with anyone who doesn't pray and chant with you
