Quite obviously a mistake, but they sure are a touchy nation?

Why, instead of taking umbrage at the slightest excuse did or do they not simply contact google and explain the problem.
Thse Iranians seem to have their brains (such as they are) firmly fixed to the bottom of their feet. Presumably all that walking has deadened what little common sense they were born with!

And yet wars are fought over such silly things as boundries and what city or territory belongs to whom.

There was a similar occurance when Disney put Jeruselum as the capital of Israel in it's Israeli Pavilion at the Epcot Center in Orlando....

...Arab nations and Arab Americans accused Disney of caving in to Jewish influence and promoting Jerusalem as Israel's capital – a thorny issue at the heart of the excruciating Middle East peace process.....

Needless to say, that didn't go over too well either.

I don't think Taiwan or the US would appreciate it if Google put Tawain as belonging to China on maps and in travel videos. So perhaps the Iranian's have a legitimate complaint against Google.

They might have a legitimate complaint, but the fact that the government gets "outraged" about every other day and their citizens riot and burn embassies seemingly as a hobby makes any outrage seem that much more contrived, legitimate or not.

Yes, I guess they are a little defensive considering the US is planning to bomb the crap out of them based on a smear campaign and contrived evidence. Heaven forbid they should protest.

Iranians aren't the ones who riot and burn embassies. It's the Arabs who do that.

I know six year olds who are more mature than iranian leaders. This is just ridiculous. G-d forbid talking about your problem, instead of blowing stuff up.

So, what did the Iranians do? A member of the parliament talked about how he sees things and a representative asked Iranians to write emails to Google.
Big deal.

Well, personally I consider remarks about Iranians made at this thread before to be immature and ridiculous.

heh, not long ago an offical EU map "forgot" to put Wales on the UK part of the map as a region.. Scotland and England and Northern Ireland was there, but not Wales.. mistakes happen.

And Jeruselum is not reconized by any nation as far as I know as the capital of Isreal.. not even the US reconizes it last I looked.

At last, recognition, thank you, thank you.

The Embassy burning peoples are mainly those who reside in various country's of the Mid East and Southern Asia.
I have not actually heard of any Arabian peoples as being described as Embassy burners, this particular nasty habit seems to be reported with a definite degree of glee, by Iranian Authorities, but the Iranians like the Iraqi people are basically NOT Arabian.

It's ****ing google not the U.N., give me a break.

OMFG death to the Zionist Walt Disney and his Jewish stooge Mickey Mouse, oh wait wasn't Disney a Nazi supporter? Oh, Islam the religion of peace how you prove it day in and day out.

The U.S. does not officially recognize Taiwan anymore.

So perhaps the Iranian's have a legitimate complaint against Google.

The Mullahs can shove it up their stupid Nazi as$es and anyone who thinks that an errored google entry is worthy of an outraged response by a government can join them.

No need to pee your pants, TOT. It's just a discussion over a news item on a debate forum.

Don't offend the Iranians or they might bring their wrath down on this forum!

Most of the Iraqi people are Arabian, there are Kurds and Turkmens, too. Iranian people are mainly Persian, Azeri and Kurdish people. Azeri and Turkmenian is related to Turkish. There are Arabian people in Iran, too, most of them are living in the south, in Khuzestan, which is the major oil-producing province in Iran.

There aren't really any calls for violence over this. They told their internet users to spam email google about it, which is probably the same thing we'd be doing if a major website based in another country re-drew our maps.

That article referenced violent protests over another completely non-related issue, which was an unnecessary reminder to readers about violence in Iran.

Anyway stereotyping muslims for violence is like stereotyping latinos for violence because of the crap that goes on in columbia.

Oh and before I forget: **** Iran. That country is a **** stain on the muslim world.

You start with saying something which makes sense.

You finish with saying something stupid.

Do you deny that most moderate muslims are embarrassed about Iran's insane statements?

Just because I look at a news article logically and see the bias doesn't mean I'm not going to call a badguy a badguy.

Critical thinking means nothing if it doesn't lead to conviction.

Yes, I do.

Badguy sounds American.

Critical thinking doesn't mean much if it leads to false convictions.

Nice response. You basically just said "no" three times.

Feel like making any arguments today?

We call it Spam here, too, we don't have an extra word for it.

I thought it was "spamennazen".
