So what is Obama going to do about this?TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has test-fired a new air-to-surface missile, Iranian media reported on Sunday, in the Islamic Republic's latest display of its military capability.
The missile test was carried out despite the offer by the administration of new U.S. President Barack Obama to engage Iran in direct talks if it "unclenches its fist".
Iran's Fars News Agency said the domestically produced missile had a range of 110 km and was designed for use by military aircraft against naval targets.
"Now these jet fighters have acquired a new capability in confronting threats," the semi-official news agency said. Iran's Press TV initially said a long-range missile had been tested, but later also used Fars' way of describing it.
So what is Obama going to do about this?
Probably not much. Does anybody remember how Bush responded during Photoshop Wars? I'd look to that if you want to know the specifics, but I'm guessing the Whitehouse will release a statement condemning the act and reiterating our position on Iran
Hopefully nothing. What exactly do you WANT him to do about this?
You don't know what I want him to do. I just want to know what his policy is in dealing with this kind of test. These countries, Iran, Russia and North Korea are testing Obama.Well he's hoping that Obama will do what Bush didn't. Attack Iran. I mean obviously if Bush didn't do it then Obama should because preemptive strikes has been the position supported by liberals since the Iraq war. Oh wait...
This means they have almost the same capability (in terms of reach) as our Harpoon missiles.Iran's Fars News Agency said the domestically produced missile had a range of 110 km and was designed for use by military aircraft against naval targets.
So what is Obama going to do about this?
Obama will do nothing more than the feckless and useless UN; this time they REALLY, REALLY, REALLY mean it.
Someday, I hope I am wrong; we may wake up to find out that Iran really did do what they said they would do and nuked Israeli cities. The headline will be something along the line of; "Iran claims that continued attacks on Hezbollah and Palestinians could no longer be tolerated so Iran declares war on the State of Israel."
Then the hand wringing Liberals and Democrats will run about much like they did in the aftermath of 9-11 wondering how the Iranians could do such a thing and whatever where they thinking; after all our dialogue and attempts to sit down at the table and treat them as equals.
But not to worry, we won’t be able to respond because the Democrats led by Obama will have gutted our military in an effort to pay the trillions in social welfare spending they passed. This will save American lives. We will let the IN deal with it in the same strong even handed way the UN deals with everything.

Since American refused to answer my question, perhaps you can take a crack at it: What exactly do you WANT Obama to do about this?
Obama should take strong action by increasing the sanctions existing on Iraq
Truth Detector said:and forcing a debate on the floor of the UN to determine stronger sanctions and get support for them.
Truth Detector said:But alas, this will not happen because we are going to hand international negotiations and enforcement over to the UN. Obama is going to fund his Socialist policies by dismantling our military much like Europe has.
Truth Detector said:I am looking forward to this new International respect we will be getting and peaceful overtures from our previous adversaries as they respond to Obama's more intellectual and gentler approach. I am feeling safer already.
You mean Iran? We already got that wrong once, I'd hate to see it happen again. :2wave:
What sanctions, specifically, do you want to impose on Iran that we don't already have in place?
What conditions, specifically, do you want Iran to meet before returning to the pre-missile test sanctions?
And what goal, specifically, do you have in mind for these new sanctions?
So right after you just got done ridiculing Obama for being beholden to the UN, you come out with exactly the same prescription for success. Brilliant, just brilliant.
It sounds to me like your solution is exactly the same as what you imagine Obama's solution is. It's a wonder that you don't like Obama more than you do.
I noticed that you didn't offer a solution. Other than "let the UN deal with it."
This means they have almost the same capability (in terms of reach) as our Harpoon missiles.

The US navy is designed to protect itself from stuff like this.
Just a missile? Wow, you almost had me scared for a moment.
I missed the link on this new Iranian missile, where did you place that? No, not just a missile. An inferior missile to the anti-ship missile they've had for decades.
It may be even more inferior to the Silkworm Anti-Ship missile. A missile that dates back to before the Iraq-Iran war.

It's amazing what some partisans will jump on.
I missed the link on this new Iranian missile, where did you place that?
I see, so they are stupid for developing this, which they should have known themselves.
Just a missile? Wow, you almost had me scared for a moment.
Not really, any improved, close range missile would be a good thing for them. But it may not be the "DOOMSDAY" weapon that many conservatives want to exploit as the next reason to invade another country like they did with Iraq.
