You may not see it as the same, but I believe that Iran does. They see Israel as a proxy of the West, including the US
I wasn't commenting on the last president. That is not the reality of today.
You think that is so simple? It is a very time consuming operation, and it is hard to be sure you got all of them.
Especially when there's a war on. Operating a mine sweeper in water when people are shooting at each other isn't exactly the most efficient operation. Furthermore, who in their right mind is going to sail a supertanker through a war zone?
Our history of meddling in the internal affairs of other nations, propping up dictators, toppling a government, imposing sanctions and embargoes, supporting Israel, placing US troops on their soil, etc, etc.
What haven't we done to piss these people off? At some point, some will say enough is enough and strike back.
It's called blowback and not unexpected. Our problems are the direct result of an interventionist foreign policy.
Ever hear of mines?
There was a civil government established in post-WW1 Germany, it was called The Weimar Republic. A Liberal Democracy that was too weak to prevent a tyrrant from taking over the government and voiding the 1919 Constitution.
Look at pre-WW2 Germany and you'll see history repeating itself.
I am really so tired of reading garbage like this. Russia has directly controlled, terrorized, murdered far more people, in far more countries, than the US - and lo and behold, no one is blowing up their buildings.
The chechnyans here and there, but nowhere near what the US faces - so where does that fit in your equation?
Who needs mines? Just sink a few large ships in the strait. One doesn't need to entire close it off, just make it unnavigable for large ships, which really isn't that hard considering just how narrow parts of the strait are and how big some of the oil transports are. And hell they don't even need to attack. Raise the threat level to the point where insurance is not practical and oil prices explode. Raising oil prices to a ultra high point has the same effect as shutting down the strait in terms of hurting us via our reliance on oil.
Which makes any potential Iranian threat to close off the Strait of Hormuz completely plausible.
The United States Navy excels at clearing a waterway, demolition shreds this unnavigable issue, oil flows freely in days.
But I do like this reliance on oil, yes, everyone relies on oil, every industrialized nation. Meaining we should probably be drilling here at home.
number one...two, Iran relies on oil as well. Her exports cut off, her inability to refine oil(she must import 80% of her gasoline), Iran is done. Toast.

Scorpion89 said to obvious Child, "We did it during the Iran-Iraq War we did it during Desert Storm. I'm guessing you don't know much about our Mine Sweepers."
Good guess.
Yea maybe OC should read up on MCM Avenger class Ships and the fact that we have three on Station in Bahrain MCM 11 USS Gladiator, MCM 12 USS Ardent and MCM 13 USS Dextrous. Along with these three ship two others are slated to join them on long term TDY MCM 14 USS Cheif and MCM 8 USS Scout. Oh and lets not forget the SSNB that we have on Station along with the ASW Airplateforms that are based out of Bahrain and Rota Spain.

Sink a few ships? Just a few?..... to close off a strait that is 29 Nautical miles wide at it's narrowest point? Do you have any idea of how many ships it would take to even make that a credible threat? :rofl
Wars also provide clear solutions, in fact, ultimate solutions.
It is obvious what they are doing and therefore...why not 'touch' them now while they're in the infant stages of developing a nuke?
Do you understand just how little of that 29 miles is actual navigable in the first place?
Do you understand just how debris a supertanker would cast off?
LOL - I will probably get another infraction for this - but, whatever - obvious Child, you're an idiot.
This thread is about Iran testing long range missiles and you are ranting about other shiit you have no clue about.
What the heck does sinking a few ships have to do with stopping a missile launch against our allies? - you're a zipperhead - and there ain't no doubt about it.
I mean what's up with you? - Are you some kind of anti-anti black hole or something, defying all that is existent, or just a typical butthole?
My guess is the latter.
You can call him all the names you want but it won't make you sound knowledgeable.
Sinking ships in the Hormuz strait, and blocking the movement of supertankers, which Iran threatens to do if they are attacked has everything to do with this discussion. Sounds to me like you are the one that doesn't have a clue.
LOL - get a grip - you actually believe that the U.S. is dumb enough or that if Iran had the stupidity to sink ships against the U.S. it would ever have an impact on anything?
All it would do is give us is the excuse to wipe their noses for them.
From this thread, what part of they are like you, dumb ass, lame wusses, do you not get?
Much, much better men have gone up against the U.S. and have failed miserably.
And why do you suppose this is? Because we are a free people.
I can elaborate on this, but your lame ass isn't worth it- too stupid, or too set in stupid ways to ever understand.
