A senior Iranian official warned the US that Israel’s security would be at risk should the US and its allies seek to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian confirmed that his country and the US exchanged messages over the fight against the militant Islamic State group. Abdollahian’s comments were the first time a senior Iranian official confirmed that Iran and the US had discussed fighting the Islamic State group.

Excuse my lack of knowledge on this topic, but WTH has Israel got to do with this? They aren't harboring any ISIS terrorists. Could it be that Iran has long vowed to "wipe Israel off the map," and now sees an opportunity to do it? If that's the case, Assad and Israel might be the only roadblocks to preventing total ISIS control of the entire ME. Is that our ultimate goal - get rid of both Assad and Israel in one fell swoop? Iran has never been our friend, and they still aren't! Israel has been a longtime ally, though, and Assad, with the help of the Turks, seems to be fighting ISIS. Russia is an ally of Iran, so it's a warning to us, I guess.

He's correct. If either ISIS or the FSA gain control of Syria, they'll eventually attack Israel.

Iran has a long history of making empty threats, particularly when it comes to Israel.

This one will probably be ignored like all the rest, and most likely should be.

It wont be a surprise since Isreal is its own worst enemy- their meddling in neighboring countries has created Hamas and Hezbollah, their most implacable enemies.

Iran is right.

It is vital for Israel that Assad stays in power.Assad for all his faults is a secularist and ultimately has much in common with Israel.

Isis is a threat to Jews, Christians, Yazidis , Kurds and Shias. It makes sense for all of them to realise that the threat to all of them is Isis and their allies like Al Nusrah and Hamas
