Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, all but said on Sunday that negotiations over the country’s illicit nuclear program are over and that the Islamic Republic’s ideals include destroying America.
“Those (Iranians) who want to promote negotiation and surrender to the oppressors and blame the Islamic Republic as a warmonger in reality commit treason,” Khamenei told a meeting of members of parliament, according to the regime’s Fars News Agency.
Khamenei emphasized that without a combative mindset, the regime cannot reach its higher Islamic role against the “oppressors’ front.” “The reason for continuation of this battle is not the warmongering of the Islamic Republic. Logic and reason command that for Iran, in order to pass through a region full of pirates, needs to arm itself and must have the capability to defend itself,” he said.
“Today’s world is full of thieves and plunderers of human honor, dignity and morality who are equipped with knowledge, wealth and power, and under the pretence of humanity easily commit crimes and betray human ideals and start wars in different parts of the world.”
In response to a question by a parliamentarian on how long this battle will continue, Khamenei said,“Battle and jihad are endless because evil and its front continue to exist. … This battle will only end when the society can get rid of the oppressors’ front with America at the head of it, which has expanded its claws on human mind, body and thought. … This requires a difficult and lengthy struggle and need for great strides.”

So now Iran's Leader.....classifies us in with the Israelis. The usual excuse of ALL will be Paradise as long as we get rid of the US and Israel. So be it.....let them bring it on. They might want to start sending out and SOS for the Klingons to come and help out.
Doesn't he just make ya want to walk up and put your foot off into his ass. Right when he gets done. I know one reaction he would have.
The last time someone said "bring it on" in an arrogant and cocky way tens of thousands of a people died. Why don't we try and little more finesse and a little less brute force?
They've been saying this off and on for years... I don't know why anybody would be surprised.
Someone will be surprised, one day, I expect...

Perhaps you should tell Mr Cocky of Iran.....who was allegedly agreeing to the Nuclear Arms talks, that BS. Especially when he is talking about wiping out America. See all that finesse you talk about.....is only used as a means by ones enemy to get close.
Yeah I know Goshin :2wave: ......but this was 6hours ago. After all the Hoopla about we going to work out a deal with them, talk and open up with them, Right?
The nuclear talks with Iran have been pretty successful so far and its because of "soft pressure" in the form of sanctions and encouraging dissent within the country.
But ya the religious leader talk a crazy game, but their power becomes less and less every year, besides Kim Jong Un says a lot of crazy **** too but that's no reason to start a war.
The talks have been reported, as stalled since the end of last month and all going into this month.

However, a top Iranian negotiator insisted Sunday that Tehran would not bend on its demand to keep operating the Arak heavy water reactor, which could give Iran weapons-grade plutonium. The issue could delay or torpedo the ongoing talks.
“The gaps were too large to begin drafting the text,” said Iran’s chief negotiator Abbas Araqchi, adding that “no tangible progress” had been made.
“This has, candidly, been a very slow and difficult process, and we are concerned with the short amount of time that is left,” a senior US official said.
“Huge gaps remain. There is really more realism needed on the other side,” said another Western diplomat. “We had expected a little more flexibility.”.....snip~

Yes there have been issues with the talks, but really do you expect any negotiations especially on a topic like this between Iran and the US to go perfectly smoothly? That doesn't mean the talks have failed, and they still remain our best option as war is completely impossible
They've been doing this for years. It's like a script...
Yes, we'll cooperate and let you inspect things....
No, you can't go in there.
All UN inspectors leave the country!
No, just kidding, we'll cooperate... in a few months...
No we won't, we're going to nuke Israel.
No, just kidding, bring the inspectors back...
... but no, they can't go in THAT site...
All inspectors out of the country! We're going to nuke America!
... Just kidding, no really, we'll cooperate this time...
Over and over, and we keep buying it. They must think we're about as smart as the Three Stooges...
Yeah there have been talks......since January of this year. Also going back over 20 years off and on. None ever go smoothly. OH.....and if they attack us. Then war is on. Which you already know.
Iran Talks: Short-Term Deal May Be Only Option
January 23, 2014 Julie Pace, Associated Press
For the United States and its negotiating partners, the next round of nuclear talks with Iran could present a difficult decision: to sign another temporary agreement or accept nothing less than an ambitious, multiyear accord to dismantle the Islamic republic's nuclear program.
To critics in the Middle East and in Congress, anything short of a full agreement may be seen as merely allowing the Iranians to stall for time, potentially reaping billions of dollars in eased economic sanctions while still refining their nuclear technology. It could also make it harder for President Barack Obama to hold off a congressional push for tougher sanctions on Iran, which the White House has warned would upend the fragile diplomacy.
The United States and its five partners — Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China — plan to resume face-to-face negotiations with the Iranians next month. They secured a six-month agreement in November that went into effect just this Monday. That deal froze key parts of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for easing some trade and financial penalties. Though it included a provision to renew the short-term accord for a period of time that would have to be agreed to by all parties, it also aimed to clear the way for broader negotiations on the thorniest aspects of Iran's nuclear program.
But analysts say another short-term deal may be the only feasible outcome given the vast differences between Tehran and the international coalition.
"I think it's extremely unlikely that it will be possible to reach a comprehensive agreement in the next six months," said Gary Samore, who until last year was Obama's top arms control adviser. "We're in for a rolling series of extensions.".....snip~

Sure does look like Iran's Leader just ended those rolling extensions that Obama's man was talking about.....huh?
When did they say they were going to nuke Israel?
So far there is no actual evidence has been presented that Iran is building a nuclear weapon. Only screaming. (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/25/w...see-no-move-by-iran-to-build-a-bomb.html?_r=0)
"January 31, 2012 - In Senate testimony James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, says there's no evidence Iran is building a nuclear bomb. CIA director David Petraeus agrees." (Iran's Nuclear Capabilities Fast Facts - CNN.com)
"he first part of the agency’s November 8 report declares—once again—that Iran is not transferring uranium for use in a military project." (On Iran, an Unsmoking Nongun)
If the talks truly do fail then re implement the sanctions that have been lifted and start over again, its all you can do. Again, war is not an option so what else are you going to do?
Cmon Mr I :2wave: ......you know fully well. Iran has mentioned that Israel needs to be destroyed or would be destroyed. That's nothing new.
It's the timing.....and knowing whats been going on with Russia and China. Then of course NKorea.

I doubt we would be the aggressor......so that is a mute point. Again.....what takes place if they attack us?
While the Iranian regime has made some rather bellicose statements, there is a major difference between making statements and then actually acting on those statements. With regards to nukes, there is no evidence that Iran is actually making nukes.

I say we give/sell Israel the necessary equipment they'd need to both destroy Iran's nuclear facility & to protect their homeland.
It is more than about time that Israel started carrying their weight geopolitically.
War is already ongoing and on several international fronts. It's just not a conventional war.

It depends on who is President. Can you see Obama responding in any serious way?
