Pete Buttigieg – 2020 Presidential Candidate Odds

It is interesting, though apparently he's still behind all the big names there. I guess we'll see where the primaries take everything, only time will tell.

That's still a lot of people to beat.

He'd make a good president, IMO.

He is running for the Vice-Presidency and has from the beginning.

Pete Buttigieg – 2020 Presidential Candidate Odds

Being mayor of a city with 25% unemployment and a crime rate over 500% higher than his state's average means he does represent the new progressive-fascist Democratic Party. He can promise that no American will ever have to work again, may commit any crimes they want to, and the government will give anything everyone wants for free - all paid for by rich people.

You can lie and make up stats all you want but you're not fooling a resident of Indiana that is a stone's throw from South Bend.

I'm guessing Mayor Pete is doing well if his opposition has to fabricate things. Must be a threat to someone.

Nate Silver describes Bernie Sanders as the tortoise in this race.

But you won’t hear any complaints out of me if Buttigieg ends up being the Democratic nominee.

I have a hard time seeing Buttigieg ending up as the nominee, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he ends up as a VP candidate.

I stand corrected: 25% poverty rate, not unemployment.

From your own source:
The South Bend IN crime rate for 2018 was 1039.09 per 100,000 population, a 0.53% decline from 2017.
The South Bend IN crime rate for 2017 was 1044.6 per 100,000 population, a 2.37% increase from 2016.
The South Bend IN crime rate for 2016 was 1020.46 per 100,000 population, a 43.49% increase from 2015.
The South Bend IN crime rate for 2015 was 711.18 per 100,000 population, a 3.8% increase from 2014.

Just in 4 years, nearly a 50% increase in crime rates in his city. Maybe he is counting being a criminal as "employment."

It does seem that Buttigieg would be an outside chance. It is nice to see some younger folk take the field though, and perhaps if he ends up VP that would be good for him. I'm not sure who would take him as VP though. Since he's a moderate, I doubt that he'd end up with Bernie or Warren. And Biden likely has a list of buddies and cronies for that job.

The interesting thing is that I see there is apparently a progressive backlash against Buttigieg, which seems unfortunate. Whether or not he could capture the nomination, I think poo-pooing the moderate wing of the Democratic party would be a mistake.

While I enjoy seeing some real data points and correcting joko104's errors, at least try and set him straight by also using his language. The crime rate is 300% higher than the states average according to your website. Unemployment is higher in South bend then the state of Indiana and slightly higher then the national average but is way lower then the 25% that joko104 claimed. Even during its historical high it was only ever 13%, So I have no idea where people pull that number from.

You don't read, do you? I stated a correction that it is 25% poverty, not unemployment, and provided the increase in crime stats from the link posted by one of his supporters.

Your right I didn't read your correction. Thanks making one

It seems like cities run by democrats go to sh*t. More homelessness, needles in the streets and feces on the sidewalks. It's very disgusting.

Buttigieg would be fine. I'll vote for whichever Dem wins the party nomination.

All of a sudden he's being talked about a lot here in NH. And he's running ads here. I like Mayor Pete. If 2020 isn't his time, I hope he plans to try again. Smart and interesting man.

Looking at the number of individuals that live below poverty by state: 7 out of 10 states are governed by Republicans. The number is really 8 out of 10 because Bevin, the guy who pardoned all those people recently before being defeated by a Democrat in Kentucky, was of course, a Republican.

Conclusions: Republicans don't have a clue what they're talking about and Republicans preach law and order but cozy up to criminals. What Bevin did in Kentucky and how you guys worship trump is proof of that.

We accept your guys' apology for your recounting inaccurate information.

Funny, I don't remember our cities riddled with feces and needles in the streets.

Funny, I live near Seattle and I don't see them either. But I'm talking about states. You know, states where cities are located?

Proving, once again: Republicans can't govern and have no clue of what they speak.

might not be a great move. he has almost no chance of flipping Indiana. a lot of Hoosiers are teenage girl in love with Mango, and his VP is Palpatine.

I would be very surprised unless someone like Harris would have won. The front runners are mostly white males. It makes alot more sense to diversify the ticket with someone like Booker, Harris or Castro etc. I like Buttigieg and the calm thoughtful way he explains his thought processes, and I think his time could come. But I don't see him helping as VP right now.

We are governing pretty damn good here in TN with a republican governor and super majority. Low debt and low unemployment.

As of 2018, TN is #13 out of 50 of number of people living in poverty. WA state is #45 "Pretty damn good" must mean something different in your language.
